Barry,
I couldn’t resist the email title, as you seem to be going through quite the adventure, though not of the typical “Hardy Boys” variety!
You’ve mentioned having a bloody anus in a few of your blog posts, with concern that it might be from a cancer. It could just be a food irritation that is doing this. If I have any gluten, or too much dairy or caffeine, then I develop an anal fissure. This leads to lots of spotting of blood on the toilet paper, and a rawness of the anal tissue. You might want to google “anal fissure” to find out if it fits.

Blood in the stool can indicate cancer, but if the blood is brightly red probably hemorrhoids are the cause.
According to TCM there is another possibility however: a very weak spleen. The spleen is not able any more to keep the blood in its proper channels, so it leaks out.
This is confirmed by my personal experience. One of the hallmarks of AIDS is a very weak spleen. Diary products weaken the spleen too. I find that the weak spleen also often is accompanied by prolaps of the bowels, so that your anus feels a bit thrust out.
So it may be a good idea to build up your spleen energy. Ginseng could also be a help.
Best regards,

Tips for Barry, don’t overdo standing postures and don’t allow the belly massages going too deep (feel your boundary), especially lower part of the belly, better to have softer massages when bleeding.
Take cold showers, shock the body with cold water. Brings both your awareness right into your body (earth lack) and helps to heal the weak vains.
Take quick dives in the sea, cold salt water will heal the hemorroids faster.
Take sitting baths with chamomille, with not too hot water if you have a lot of pain, or cold (make a tea first and poor it into the tub with cold water).
There is especially one herb which is really good for you to use as a cream:
Common cornfrey(Symphytum officinale)Any oil will help to make the anus softer and drink a lot of water and herbal tea (chamomille for now).
And yes it is a spleen/liver problem, earth/who am I? issue….
Anus has to do with trust and healthy boundaries.
Trust in yourself and allowing LIFE entering your body from the earth pole.Take care Barry!

While I don’t push out stools your comments mirror how I push into release/centering on many other levels so I am certain bleeding is a result of this pressure to find myself all wrapped tightly in old ideas of who I thought I was.
This weakness is also genetic and has led me into various dietary strategies over the years from macrobiotics to ayurveda- from strict vegan to organic meats and vegetables. I have given up wheat and dairy only to return with no significant change. SO I have no clue what to eat these days except by feel and this is tricky.
Mental dietary logic seems to contradict in my body. So I focus more on these energetic moving practices on the mat and in my life path now and eat as balanced as I know how.
Trust is the virtue of this shen and is what I cull between the lines of your ideas and breathe deeply through my body. Ahhh.
The less trust the more I push.
More trust, I know when to soften pushing. But I find this time very disorienting and confusing. Building energies in a center that holds pain takes courage, patience, and perhaps more of my own smiles. Now that I think of it, it takes all the other virtues as support. barry
