Hey Daoists,
This Friday we have a very large, very powerful
we can attune to. Not only is it the Fall Equinox (the Sun moves into Libra at 10:04 pm Mountain time) but the same day is a New Moon in Virgo at 5:45 am Mountain time) solar eclipse. As with all astrological holidays, this has a three day window – the day before, the day of and the day after. The exact time of the events is actually secondary to this fact.
This eclipse follows the first one (they always come in pairs) two weeks ago at the Full Moon. Eclipses are generally considered very magical times because the energy that is aligned creates a space outside of normal time. The four quarter points of the year, the solstices and the equinoxes, do the same thing. They are like a tunnel of “neutral space” to align with. Once inside the tunnel, we are in the wake of whatever the universe is bringing in at the moment in the way of new forces, changes, patterns, etc., and we have the oppuortunity to inject into or impress upon the open field our intentions. To have both and eclipse and an equinox literally simultaneously compounds the effect greatly. This one should be particulary receptive in nature.
Personally, I usually feel the energies coming into alignment about a week before, so we are well into the field of it already. I always schedule large amounts of “do nothing” time for these events and it has been most worthwhile. Knowing the Kan and Li practices has completely changed my experiences of these junctures.
So I wish you a magical and fulfilling moment of transition this week.
Happy Harvest

can you please clarify something for me?

so, does that mean that the entire 3 days are of equal potential, or is there a period within the 3 days (thursday, friday, saturday) that is particularly significant?
If so, and whenever that time may be, can you please tell me what you mean by ‘mountain time”? I assume it’s within the mid-west to western US time zone?
then i can convert it to australian eastern standard time.
THANX
September 20, 2006 at 10:30 pm #18148matblackParticipanti was just told by one of my masters that a window will open up on saturday afternoon 3 – 5pm melbourne time.
i think that’s roughly friday 1 – 3 am NYC time
how does that sound?
September 21, 2006 at 4:10 am #18150Alexander AlexisParticipant*so, does that mean that the entire 3 days are of equal potential,*
Essentially, yes. I have found through the last few years that the meditational potential is just as good on any of the days. But what you’ll find is that it’s related to who you are and what’s going on for you personally. If you start early in the week you can progressively align with it as it builds, peaks and wanes, instead of trying to get the whole thing in the exact hour of its passing.

Mat, Go here and it will give you the exact time as per the time set on your own computer. Make sure your clock is set right as the website will calculate the equinox time directly from it.
