I have long considered karezza to be the starting point, a kind of kindergartden, for Taoist sex.
I use kindergarden in its positive sense, the place where we should learn our formative patterns.

I ihave explored this method extensively for over 20 years. The principle is that if a man and woman hold their energy fields in loving (but passive) alignment, that the chi will begin to vibrate and circulate.

Even simple standing practice relies on the same principle – only there it is the vibration of earth below and heaven above. Do nothing, and things begins to pulsate.

I totallysupport this premise. But I also have found that you can vastly improve on it by training in qigong and healing love, in this case. The more you open your qi channels and raise awareness of the vital organ spirits, the more powerful your communications become.

The dopamine-oxytocin explanations given on the karezza site are interesting, but ultimately superficial.
The energy body creates chemical and hormonal responses – where else do you think they come from?
You won’t find dopamine in the original sperm-egg combo that births the physical body – all these functional ingredients of our physical self are crystallized from the chi field by our energy body.

So it more a quesiton of what level do you want to play on, or focus on. I prefer going deeper, it has rewarded me with possibility of exploring someone else’s soul, not simply their chemistry.

My healing love courses have reflected this shift in focus on subtle body sex in recent years (last five?), and have been developed extensively in those courses. Not made it into print yet, but constitutes a major shfit from the original book I wrote for Chia.
