note: sent to my local Asheville list. but worth sharing on this particular day….
Every moment in life you are casting your ballot for what type of change you want to see in the next moment. So we can say Life is an Election, a continuous voting process for what direction you will choose next. If you change gracefully, life becomes a dance.
Whether you voted for Obama or McCain is not really the issue. The fact that you voted means you want to participate more fully in the changes that will be happening, no matter who gets elected. If you didn’t vote, you may be falling back into cynicism and aloofness from the changes, feeling all politics is hopeless and not worth your time.
I share that cynicism about politics in part; the real change is coming from deeper levels than the politicians, so changing the players around is secondary, even if essential. They are the very last to realize how deep the change is, and respond only when forced to by crisis. But don’t let your cynicism over politicians bleed over into your attitude about change. Vote for continuous change, and the Life Force will reward you with greater participation in the spiritual life of the Cosmos.
It’s a challenge to keep changing, but it’s a choiceless choice. Everyone wants a vacation from change now and then. But this is not the time, it’s neither “now” nor “then”. We are entering into something new, and into more surprising changes than anyone could imagine are coming our Way…..
Anyway, I keep voting for the Life Force by teaching the same Fundamental tools for changing the self. I never grow tired of them; they just get richer and deeper as I learn to change myself in order to keep dancing with the Life Force. I don’t want the Life Force to step on my toes; that’s called suffering. So I play at learning how to dance a little better every day.
My dance uses qigong and inner alchemy to map out the dance steps. Last week at a retreat in Mexico I had a major breakthrough, teaching the Advanced Lesser Kan and Li in conjunction with Primordial Qigong. Wow, is it powerful! I know it is going to change the lives of everyone at that retreat. It has already changed my life, things are cooking really powerfully….
And this weekend I may discover something totally new about the Six Healing Sounds, the Inner Smile, and the Microcosmic Orbit. So even if you’ve studied these already, and think you “know” them, you may learn to dance more gracefully than you thought possible.
It’s just a choice, yet another vote over what you’ll do with your time this weekend. If money is the issue,
at least come to the FREE Friday night (Nov. 7) meditation at LightenUp Yoga from 7 to 9 pm, downtown Asheville.
Voting to smile together at the soul level is an easy choice. I’m voting to smile to your soul, whether your body is able to show up or not!

INNER SMILE – Free Evening Talk & Meditation
with Michael Winn.
This evening is part of the weekend workshop, even though it is open to the public. We will mostly smile together, relax from the “heart-mind” (xin) level of smiling in the body until the “inner heart” or soul (lingshen) level of smiling spontaneously arises. I will facilitate this with a transmission of that frequency of unconditional acceptance at the soul level.
Location: At Lighten Up Yoga, same venue as weekend workshop. No pre-registration required, free to all.
Nov. 8 – 9, 2008 (Sat/Sun): Asheville, N.C.

Visit http://www.healingdao.com/ckf1.html#top (Fundamentals 1 product page with sample ebook chapter, testimonials, etc.)
Day 2: guided Micro-Cosmic Orbit, famous Tao meditation that unifies all energy centers/chakras into a flowing whole. Process is made simple with the powerful “Open Qi (Chi) Flow in the Orbit” movement qigong. Plus transmission to help you open chi flow in the orbit.
Includes oral transmission of the powerful Wudang Mountain Red Dragon internal meditation method of circulating the orbit (not taught in standard Healing Tao curriculum).
Good for self healing, spiritual centering and balance of all yin-yang meridians of body, and balancing blood and chi. The orbit is the main pathway needed for cultivating sexual energy as you progress in your practice.
More info on Fundamentals 2: http://www.healingdao.com/ckf2.html
These two days are packed with powerful practices that can make major shifts in your health and energy level. They are Lifetime Treasures, simple enough to easily share with family and friends.

Dec. 6 – 7, 2008 (Sat/Sun) Asheville, N.C.
QIGONG FUNDAMENTALS 3 & 4:
Internal Chi Breathing and Bone Rooting
Medical and Spiritual Qigong with Michael Winn
Day 1: Learn the 3 types of Taoist breathing: natural, reverse, and counter-force. Powerful “empty” or neutral force breathing method can be done anywhere, standing, sitting, lying. Opens belly center/dantien, the key to good chi circulation and self-healing. Standing and moving postures to open core channels of body. My simplified version of Iron Shirt Qigong.
We will also learn the Ocean, Sky, & Great Heart Breathing: Blissful Breathing Qigong. This form activates the Mystical Power of Three, that unites physical breath with subtle body breath in all three dantian. A short 5-minute form that packs a tremendous wallop.
Day 2 focuses on bone marrow breathing, rooting power, and simple bone-to-bone tapping. Excellent for grounding, preventing & healing chronic illness due to blood deficiency, osteoporosis, and many others. Stabilizes stillness for meditators, develops root for all movement artists (dance or martial arts). This bone work is the prelude to completing bloodline ancestral issues.
See http://www.healingdao.com/ckf3.html for more details.
Open to all, no prerequisites. Useful to have Fundamentals 1&2, but they can be taken in reverse order as well. Cost: $144. weekend. $90. for Sat. only, or reviewers (both days).

What changes are coming? What is the best way to prepare for them and ride along the waves of change?
Any particular Qigong forms that are best?

Isn’t it cynical to vote in a system so hopelessly distorted ?
To continue with it is to betray your real self, real hope, and that is the real betrayal and cynicism.
To not believe in and hope for something that is actually Good, that is cynical.
To continue with this edifice this mentality that we call “politics”, to feel that is the only way, is fatalistic and without hope.
