Think about it and you will see why…
How Silly can you get!
Another thing is this shen jing Earth pre natal garbage…
Do you speak English???
You seemed Brainwashed…
I think what alot of people are suffering from is
Chinese Wanna Be syndrome!
They travel to China and think that they have become
Probably because they cant face the culture they were raised in
so they project themselfs onto another culture in order to
avoid facing there insecurities with there own culture…
Hey look there is Hope!
Did you see Her?
Mmmmm She was looking good!April 28, 2005 at 12:05 am #5129
doing nothin, sayin nothin…
You are having such fun reading your posts here but maybe it’s time for a walk, some fresh air. Live the zen way…… get off the computer a bit….. see what life is like.
There’s lots of good teachers out there especially in new york city. You are kidding yourself that you know so much.
Time to move on??
in our light

It is not for that reason at all …. and do you live English?
It is to learn other cultures to then understand and join the cultures. To see that we all have similarities and differences and that we are indeed not better than the other. Not even you. And that each culture and each person has soemthing to be gleaned and something to add to the wisdom of the pearl.
North America has not been lived upon for many, many years. Eastern countries have. This is back to origin.
Russian, Ukraine have history as does Israel, as does China, Japan and Greece. It is up to each human to find their way to open. You cannot and should not dictate that. Your opinion is worthless in the eyes of one who sees the light or has seen the light. Some people just don’t get that. Some immortals just don’t get that. Each one of us holds our essence in each one of our cells and in that essence is the writing of our opening recipe. That recipe may not always be the same as the other that stands beside you because that recipe is divinely written. When one becomes in tune to the inner self one will automatically do the “right” things. Not without hard work sometimes, not without tears sometimes, and it is the immortal’s job to guide…..key word here is GUIDE!!, not dictate. And all of this sex stuff … I agree with Michael. If you can’t get past the gonads well, you ain’t there yet. Sure sex is fun and fullfilling but if that were the only way to enlightenment we would have all been born with 7 pinuses and 7 vaginas. That way we could screw ourselves to enlightenment.
Forgive the vision, but the point is … get over it.
And for Michael, I have a question please. What does the white dragon mean in qigong practise. And white roses. A flying white dragon, above the head and just behind it. Very beautiful. Flies with me sometimes when I am driving lately … I can feel the tingles in my head and spine.
Dragons and crystals .. interesting.
You see I do not know the lingo, I do not truly know the process but I put my heart in the creator’s hand …. he is the teacher I trust. I cannot describe many things, I cannot tell so many things why … I can only feel and know. So when I get together with others who practise qigong way and tao way and they say so many things I can only look at them .. and find it so very nice to listen to .. but I cannot say what is in my heart. The words are very hard to describe and for me it is different than for you… and for you is different than others. And yet we are the same. Different. Same.
I only know that flying with the white dragon is nice. I really enjoy that. And I think maybe a long time ago I flew with the dragons a lot. All colours. Maybe rainbow colours.
Well, got to go. Work tomorrow. Reality is good too.

Hey dude … I never asked for a teacher? What post have you been reading?
As for being on the computer, I never asked for any advice on my personal life either. I am up at 4:30 a.m., deliver newspapers, then off to work, then pick up my son, maybe practise a little, walk a little, talk a little, …. all things dear dude.
As for Zen… all meditation is the same in essence. One is not better than the other.
And I have never eluded to the fact that I know a lot of anything. And I certainly do like to see my writings. How about you? I figure a little white light reading is good for anyone. And this is a forum, as long as you keep it clean and nice, I think anyone and everyone can post. It is up to the reader as to whether they read them or not.
I certainly have my choices.
And I am far away from New York …. and I don’t know. I doubt that there is a teacher that meets my requirements, other than the creator. I am pretty big on honesty, integrity, morals and ethics. How about you?April 28, 2005 at 4:50 am #5137
You are Way cool and right on the pulse of the Tao in my book. Love your spunk. Cultivating your own unique destiny, following your essence/heart. Your heart is heart of the Tao.
The traditional Taoist terminology is useful only because Englsh doesn’t have the vocabulary devleoped for subtle body states. As you point out, lots of ancient cultures do. And they are all valid and potentially useful to westerners importing their spiritual wisdom.
Shining Arrow post below suggesting someone get a teacher and get away from the computer was directed at His Excessive Nothingness, not you.
I cannot speak for your White Dragon, I encourage you to communicate with it directly.
The dragon in china is viewed very differently than dragons in the west, where in Christian mythology we idolize those who kill them (see St. George).
The dragon in one Tao belief is the rising chi of Spring Equinox and the setting chi of Autumn Equinox, the balance points of larger cycles of yin and yang. It is an extremely auspicious sign to have a dragon guide appear.
It suggests possibly that you are in tune with larger cycles of the Earth’s journey around the zodiac, that your own soul journey is in alignment with the Greater/collective soul journey of Humanity.
It is most common to describe a Green Dragon, because of the spring assocition with the hun ( liver shen/wood spirit) that rises strongly in spring.
Yours is a white dragon. White is commonly linked to White Tiger as symbol of lung shen/metal or gold spirit called “po” and Autumn. (for photo of this, and more info, see the sample chapter in my new ebook on Five animals recently posted on Qigong/Chi Kung Fundamentals 1 product page, link from homepage).
So your White Dragon may be a guide/ higher manifestation of your own body spirits, suggesting an integration of hun and po. liver and lung spirits, spring and autumn cycles. Again, this is likely a very good sign of spiritual progress and purity of spiritual intention. The Life Force is responding to your cultivation practice. Your dragon has arisen from its hiding/birthing place deep within the Earth (your body/jing) and is flying high with your spirit. Ride it with virtue and skill and you are immortal.
love, chi, blessings on your journey,

First of all I would like say I am a big fan of Michael Winn and have been reading and studying his stuff for a few years now. As a Half Welsh, half Englishman I took a great interest in this post – the symbol of the welsh flag is a red dragon (Draig means lightning in welsh) I have to point out though that not all westerners view all dragons as evil beings. King Arthur Pendragon (dragonhead) obviously felt the same way.
Dragons seem to be a key element in both western and eastern alchemy. I disagree with the notion that Christians invented dragon slaying however.
Lu Dong Bin has to deal with a troublesome dragon as I remember. Indra and Thor also engage in Serpent/Dragon bashing. And before you say its patriachrchy overcoming matriarchy, one of the oldest Cretan myths has the Goddess stomping on the serpents head and breaking his teeth!
The point I’m trying to make is that there are dragons and there are dragons. Perhaps as slaying in the otherworld has more of transformatory nature, it symbolises the shift from jing into shen or purifying toxic jing into primordial jing?
I’ve read that St Michael (coincidence?) (one of the original dragon slayers) in alchemy is described as the green serpent transmuted into the golden lion. So the the opponents may perhaps be aspects of each other.
Does this have a connection with atlantean alchemy
Thankyou for tolerating my questioning but as you probably guessed I’m fascinated with dragons!

Teacher thing not directed at you rainbow bear. love your posts…. keep them comming.
i was blessed to spend a moment with 3 bears yesterday. deep in the pisgah forest, on a unmarked trail not on any map….. near kitsuma/base of mt mitchell and a trail ive never been on…. now at dusk, no light in my pack.
i came up to a clearing and stopped, scanning the field, “i don’t like this”. too far in to make it back the way i came in before dark no end in sight of this unmarked trail.
eventually i saw the 2 black bear cubs, about 20 feet away right in my path. “oh shit” came out of me in a deep rumble. then “where’s the mom.” the cubs apparently were not paying any attention to me until i notice them, it was my change in awareness that startled them.
the mom was in the bushes to my left side, now decided that the family was going up the very steep slope, across my path.
i never was scared, later realized… concerned but not afraid… i think they felt the same way.
long hike-a-bike off trail back up and out, a long ride on rail road then another hike-a-bike, some 2000 feet of climbing caring a 40 pound mtn bike…. small price to pay for a moment with those mystical creatures…..

“The dragon in china is viewed very differently than dragons in the west, where in Christian mythology we idolize those who kill them (see St. George). ”
going back to prechristian days though, many early europeans admired the dragon. in john boorman’s rendition of the arthurian legends, “Excalibur”, arthur’s totem is the dragon, and merlin works closely and in harmony with the dragon, teaching arthur about it. it’s basically decribed as the power underlying and endowing all creation. maybe barry could tell us something of the welsh dragon, a living breathing healthy dragon in the midst of a christian world.
maybe the natural state of humans is to honor the dragon and the christians have suppressed and weakened our natural inclinations.April 28, 2005 at 11:20 pm #5145
boorman also correctly portrayed the sexual mysteries of the grail and showed that the true power to awaken comes from the female. she is the grail and the keeper of the sword, until it is given to the man when he earns it. it was the lady of the lake that originally offered the sword.
so, men, take note. if you seek the holy grail, be kind to your women.April 29, 2005 at 12:18 am #5147
Thank you so much for your input and thanks to Michael also. It helps a lot. I know that we should not need it and if it has to be that I cannot have it then I can deal with that, but it is so very nice to get affirmation. So many years without it. It is like a present. To know a little history that makes things gel just a little more. Realizing at the same time that it can mean nothing. It is of great coincidence that I love the sword and have in the past practised straight sword for many, many, many hours. Sometimes sleeping on the studio floor when I was tired. And then getting up to play again. I took up Japanese swordsmanship also. Actually a Japanese man whose grandfather was a Shinto priest gave me the Japanese blade I have now. He led me to Kenjutsu. The swordplay there cuts straight thru to the heart.
I guess maybe Nothingness picked up on the Zen involved there in that practise.
The swords and dragons are of no consequence to anyone I know that, but to me -well your words and Michael’s … just sit nice. They are like warm earth rocks. They are firm and I like that. You do much to heal. Thank you.
Rainbows!!April 29, 2005 at 2:35 pm #5149
“maybe the natural state of humans is to honor the dragon and the christians have suppressed and weakened our natural inclinations”
Dragons are related to our sexuality, especially for women as we are earth bounded. I once connected with a dragon heart and I was filled with so much love for this planet, I cried tears of happiness, I felt reborn.
Anyway, women-sexuality-inner wisdom- power- dragons, of course it had to be destroyed. St Michael stabbed the sword – penis through the heart of the dragon.
Oh what a beautiful day for Christianity, killing the heart of the female!
So White Dragon, I welcome you in this plane!

That would have been such a beautiful experience. Enough adrenalin to help you remember it for along time. Times like those are surreal. I remember when I took my basset hound (she has passed on now) for a walk in the winter time. The field we were walking in was all white with snow, with just a small trail. The moon was full and it cast its light on the snow making everything silver. There was a hint of a mist in the air, kind of a silver mist. And overhead flew two huge snowy owls. Very quite, very graceful. They circled overhead a few times and followed my dog and I for about 15 minutes or so. It was something I will never forget. It was as if we were suspended in time. In a picture. So quiet. Just us 4. To me, it is times like these that make life here so worthwhile. I am sure your bears will be in your heart forever.
Have a good weekend.
