Hi,
I’m VERY into Chinese dragons, and aside from the Swimming Dragon qigong, can you, Michael, or anyone else recommend other dragon qigong forms?
I’ve done a Google search, and noticed among other things a “Dragon Door” video available from Shihfu Jian JianYe. With my Qigong Fundamentals training from Michael, I might now be able to see and feel what the movements are accomplishing! 🙂
In any case, recommendations would be very much welcomed.
[Description of the Jian JianYe video: Dragon Door Chi Kung. Presentation by Shihfu Jian JianYe. Instructional VHS, 121 minutes. “There is a great deal of emphasis here on gathering energy and spinal twisting (light and safely done). A very decent and reasonable regimen for those looking for Chi Kung. Some difficulties but anything in the routine can be modified to the beginner. Some very logical and well planned sections.” VSCL (VHS). Source One: Plum Publications. Source Two: Wayfarer Publications: “By Jiang Jian-ye. This video teaches a Taoist qigong method from the famous Wu Dang Mountain. There is a demonstration followed by step-by-step teaching of the 14 postures, which include subroutines. It is taught at slow and regular speed with multiple repetitions and views. There are reviews of segments and at the end there is a demonstration from the front and rear. 112 Min.”]
Thanks!

He was taught and given transmission of the lineage by Master Yi Chien Liang 1895-1986, nicknamed “one flower that faces heaven”, a Taoist monk from the Wan So Temple (10,000 years Longevity Temple).
See the description at: http://www.onehand.com/pages/volumes_26.html
In any case, the more attention I pay to Chinese dragons, perhaps the better friends I’ll make of them (or, the better friend they’ll make of me! :).

Dragons choose you, when time is ready in their ‘opinion’ it is possible you go through an initation. All I can add to that is, if you want this, the dragons ride you (test you) in order for you to ride the dragons.
You can’t manipulate them to want you, to initiate you, it can happen by the act of surrendering, it is going through the death of parts of you in order to find yourself even more alive than ever before, but death you must face. There is a difference between a mental projection, a sort of (fantasy) idea that comes alive, (that is how most people use astral beings or entities) and a real initation.
I wish you dragon love, wisdom and strength,

And one of her 33 forms is “Long Tou Guan Yin”, “Chief of Dragons”. Indeed, my favorite image of her shows her standing upon a dragon.

find a lot of different things to explore.I know a meditative dragon walk/march/form that
I learned years ago when I was into martial
tai chi, which I could show you if we
happen to bump into each other at a workshop. However, if you do a Google search, you should
find much.Best,

From what I’ve discovered so far, whatever else I do I think that I’ll give the Dragon Gate (a.k.a. Dragon Door) Qigong a try. So far I’ve found ads for three DVDs teaching it, by Jiang Jian-ye, Doctor Gordon Xu, and Daryll Mitchell.
🙂
