In ‘Practice of Magic’, Draja Mickaharic recommends working on PK whilst in body as a prep for doing it when OB. Exercises given are based on moving small lead weights attached to strings, or a needle floating on the surface of water etc, with the mind alone. A similar technique involves spinning a scrap of paper balanced on a needle. Etc., the point is starting small.
Mickaharic says that the best students can move ‘Up to one third of their body weight’, whether their bodies happen to be around at the time or not.
In ‘Initiation Into Hermetics’, Franz Bardon gives a method for accumulating the earth element in order to give the astral body weight and substance. He also says: “objects can be transported in the same manner over great distances” and gives methods.
It is also common for very skilled projectors to be able to project a part of their bodies only – for example one eye or one hand, which can be sent to great distances off for whatever purpose.
Both authors are extremely reliable in other respects, very straightforward and not in the least sensationalist. Also neither is a ‘Taoist’ – although I’m quite certain that some Taoists, and also some Tibetan Buddhists, practice similarly.
Believe or not, as you like! I just wanted to point this out.

There presentations may or may not be true, its not for me to confirm or deny them. Its not an important aspect of daily life to me. Being a good person, being positive and uplifiting to other people, staying health and strong. These are more important to me.

That is the apport technique. As such was named by russians. It was presented in reports my by american community that are the obvious candidates to have been prompters in remote viewing initiative in us.
The purpuse includes substantial influencing also.Didn’t connect the above before.

Bardon Q&A states that the imbalance of moon sphere in the elemence (i.e. overaccumulaton) is to severe one from earth gravity, connects to moon…hence body flyes. Image is much in vein of kung fu movies like crunchin tiger.. or flying daggers ‘i see you have mastered the skill of flying’ the woman says to the man while carresing his hand. Interesting fun.August 26, 2006 at 9:38 am #16801NnonnthParticipantCan’t say I care whether government dumbasses are doing the same thing! This technique of partial projection is very commonly described in magic, I imagine it would not be so difficult if you have whole-body projection down, but I won’t know for a while.
As I recall, Bardon’s 1st technique for ‘flying’ was to load with magnetic fluid and use this to repulse gravity – that would indeed result in what you so beautifully refer to as a ‘Crunching Tiger’ technique! His second method was levitatory, involving loading with the air element so one becomes like a balloon, directing one’s travel using wind that again is created with the air element.
[sigh] all a bit far off from where I currently am, and am likely to be for some time. You’re right, fun, but for me still the stuff of silly pipe dreams. NN
August 26, 2006 at 9:44 am #16803FajinParticipantThis is pretty interesting stuff. One thing is worng in this picture. The “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” is using the air element and becoming light, they don’t fly. It was just a movie, in reality it happens extremely fast, and the person lands really fast and very lightly.
August 26, 2006 at 9:46 am #16805FajinParticipantThere are internal methods for increasing your hangtime in the air, but I never learned that or even got to that level. So it may seem like flying, but is not.
August 26, 2006 at 10:46 am #16807NnonnthParticipant… so you’ve seen it done then? How marvellous?
Of course I’m sure real life is not like the movies – when is it? (thank god)
I was only meaning to differentiate between these two western methods – which BTW are amongst *the* most advanced things in Bardon, eg. he does not at all recommend training for it until after the adept has merged with Divine Unity at least once.
I can find the quotes for you now – yes:
“The magician will come to the conclusion, after studying the universal laws, that gravity depends upone the magnetic attractive force of the earth. Therefore, levitation is the nullification of gravity. There are two methods that can be employed to nullify the gravity in your own body.
“The first method is as follows: Through continuous exercises of loading and accumulating the Air element, Vayu Tattva, the fundamental attribute of this element is realized to such a degree that a human being becomes as light as a feather and rises from the earth like a balloon.
“The second method is as follows: This method has its origin in the control of the electromagnetic fluid. When, through the accumulation of the magnetic fluid, the magician has reached an ample density in his body that corresponds to his body weight, in other words that equals the gravitational force of the earth, then the gravitational force of the earth ceases to exist; gravity is nullified [repulsion of similar poles – NN]. While the magician is charged with the magnetic fluid in this manner, he will scarcely be in contact with the ground, and he can even move on the surface of the water, regardless of the depth. Should he condense the magnetic fluid even more, he can ascend from the earth into the air and travel in any direction by means of the condensed Air element or by the air current which he is able to produce…” etc.
I normally don’t speak to what I haven’t personally experienced, but occasionally it’s fun to talk about this stuff. I am NOT training for this at the moment, needless to say!

Only government dickheads would see a beautiful technique like that and instantly think – right, who can we influence with our agenda? Jeesh! These *people*…
Not to say that influence is not possible. When you talk to people whilst OB they will think it is their own mind talking. Magicians do this all the time – but they use it to heal.
Once Mickaharic was approached by a female client who wanted to see if he could cure her husband's depression. One problem – the husband didn't 'believe in magic' and wouldn't come near Mickaharic's practice!
Every night for several months, Mickaharic visited the guy and implanted suggestions whilst OB. The guy's depression gradually vanished. The financial cost charged was – whatever you can afford (the family was poor). And the guy never suffered a relapse, nor did he ever know *anything* about it. A particularly successful example of course, but still – isn't THAT fantastic?
The ability to astral-project can certainly be of great benefit in the quest for what the Buddha-influenced call 'merit'!

August 26, 2006 at 11:21 am #16811FajinParticipantThanks for the info. The first method you mentioned is what I used to practice.
The second one resembles the feats a Taiji master can accomplish. The heaven force above the head is the repulsion of the earth force below the feet. So earth force pulls you downward, heaven force pulls you upward. Magnetic fields below, electric fields above – electromagnetism.
It’s about condensing heaven qi in the dantian in Wudang martial arts to get levitation. Yang Lu Chan was able to perform neat levitation tricks! And let’s not forget what Zhang, Sanfeng was capable of.
I say I’ll be able to do these neat tricks in about a decade or so. When you store earth qi in the dantian, you can really lead movements with the abdomen and make yourself slide forward/backward on the ground without even moving your feet!

FajinAugust 26, 2006 at 11:27 am #16813NnonnthParticipant… I think at least two decades for me – let’s hope I’m still young enough to enjoy it.

compiled some private brainstorm on the topic, see here:Levitation and Light Body
my favourite daoist fancyI have an interest in levitation and light body since a long time. (One could probably deduce some psychological issues from this. Why does someone think flying is cool? Following Learys model, I prepare for the next evolutionary step of mankind: conquering space ;-). Freud was more into sex here, as far as I remember.)
What partially lead to my interest in this topic is a series of dreams I had over the years, very realistic dreams, very vivid, colourful and irritating in their sense of the physical. In these dreams I am able to either float some minor distance above the ground in the position of a ski-jumper, or run very fast in a way that my steps become longer and longer, or am able to jump very high, almost like floating. Always these actions in my dreams feel like an actual physical feat or knack, they require some skill and are quite demanding.
