This text version of the first seminar in Holographic Breathing can be used as an aid to the free audio tutorial of the first seminar http://www.holographic-breathing.com/free-audio-seminars/cat_view/34-learn-with-free-audio-seminars or you can use this page to learn the first part of that seminar.
When teaching the first seminar to people personally, everyone comes away with the experience of Holographic Breathing. But something happens when people are learning from the audio downloads and text version, and some people come away with out having the experience of Holographic Breathing. On speaking with people they have normally left out parts or changed it.
To help remedy this I have developed four exercises which build into the Holographic Breathing. Each exercise teaches a different aspect and when they are all combined they result in the basic structure of Holographic Breathing. My General advise is to go through the exercises in this text version, and then move onto the free audio seminar, which covers this and then goes on into more depth and grounds the experience through the whole body. There is a basic structure to Holographic Breathing.
The lips are closed so the breath is through the nose.
The upper surface of the tongue is on the roof of the mouth.
On the in breath the jaw is gently opening and on the out breath the jaw is gently closing. The movement of the jaw is small about half a finger width.
This basic structure of Holographic Breathing is an exact science after that, you can travel on inner journeys with it.
If you follow the basic instructions below correctly you will be doing Holographic Breathing. But if you leave parts out or change them the Holographic Breathing will not work properly. In this first seminar participants learn Holographic Breathing in a relaxed and easy way. At a certain point there is a remembrance as if this movement is expanding from with-in us, and as this happens the movement and the breath integrate, the mouth and the whole body relax into a deep, moving breath. We then spend time allowing this new depth of breath to integrate through the whole body.
For this reason it is good to participate in the seminar all the way through as to have the experience and allow it to integrate. After this, it’s a bit like riding a bike, and possible to practise for as long or as short as you wish.FIRST SEMINAR
This first part is before we learn the exercises and Holographic Breathing and is to help people connect to their resources. In this we connect to supportive energies. For my self I connect to the earth, the higher self and the energies of the Holographic Breathing. But if you have your own supportive energies or spirituality that you like to connect to, you can do that, or if you feel to waver this part that is also fine.
So this is what I do.
The eyes are closed
From with-in say hello or send a smile to the earth.
Let the earth say hello back.
Notice if you feel this through the bodyFrom with-in say hello or send a smile to the higher self.
Let the higher self say hello back.
Notice if you feel this through the bodyFrom with-in say hello or send a smile to the energies of the Holographic Breathing.
Let the energies of the Holographic Breathing say hello back.
Notice if you feel this through the body
Then asking all of those energies to be with you through the whole seminar as a guide and support. Now we move on to the exercises that build up to the beginning of Holographic Breathing
The basic movement of the mouth in holographic Breathing is –
The lips are closed.
The upper surface of the tongue is on the roof of the mouth.
The breath is through the nose.
On the in breath the jaw gentle opens and on the out breath the jaw gentle closes
– The movement of the jaw is small – about half a finger widthTo beginning with there is a set of exercises which seem to answer the questions that arise when people are learning and as we combine all of these exercises participants will be doing Holographic Breathing. Then after a short period rather than doing Holographic Breathing it becomes a natural experience that unfolds from with in us.
After this there is no need to go back to these initial exercises.
1 exercise
The eyes are closed through all of these exercises and sit comfortably.
Have the lips closed all of the time and move the jaw up and down in a relaxed way.
The movement of the jaw is small – about half a finger width about the height of these ms mmmmmmmm.
Also be aware of the breath through the nose.
The movement should always be gentle and relaxed.
The movement can be at any speed.
Relax the back of the neck and head.
Do this for about 2 minutesNotice it is easily possible to have the lips closed and gently move the jaw. If you find this difficult you may be making the movement of the jaw to large, it is about half a finger width, about the height of these ms mmmmmmmmm
This movement is very similar to a gentle form of chewing – The jaw moves up and down and the lips stay closed.
It is important to have the lips closed when doing Holographic Breathing.2
In this exercise let the jaw be relaxed and still.
The lips are closed and breathing through the nose.
Place the upper surface of the tongue on the roof of the mouth and The tip of the tongue is touching or close to the front teeth.
Only put as much of the upper surface of the tongue on the roof of the mouth as feels comfortable maybe about an inch.
Relax the tongue in this position, have the lips closed and be aware of the breath through the nose.
Relax the back of the neck and head
Do this for about 4 minutes
Check it is the upper surface of the tongue on the roof of the mouth and as much as feels comfortable. The tongue should just float up there.
(Note this is different to Tai Chi where only the tip of the tongue is on the roof of the mouth.)Later when the exercises are combined a common question is how do I keep the tongue on the roof of the mouth and move the jaw
So at this stage it is good to become used to having the tongue on the roof of the mouth. The more natural this feels, the easier it is to have it there when the jaw is gently moving in Holographic Breathing.3
We are now going to combine the first and second exercise.
Have the lips closed and the upper surface of the tongue on the roof of the mouth.
Then as well as this start moving the jaw up and down about half a finger width or about the height of these ms mmmmmmmmmm
Do this gently, in a relaxed way and at a comfortable speed.
Also be aware of the breath through the nose.
Relax the back of the neck and head
Do this for about 2 minutes
It should be possible to have the tongue on the roof of the mouth and gently move the jaw.
If not you may be making the movement of the jaw to large or to fast. If it is neither of these it may be good to relax and go back to part 2 for a while.4
We are now going to integrate the movement of the jaw with the breath.
As with exercise 3
The lips are closed all of the time.
The tongue is on the roof of the mouth all of the time.
The jaw is moving up and down,
and also be aware of the breath through the nose.
Start to slow down the movement of the jaw, until it is moving very slowly and gently, also stay aware of the breath.
A when you feel ready –
As you breathe in, slowly and gently opening the jaw.
As you breathe out, slowly and gently closing the jaw.
This starts as a doing, but as you go longer let the jaw become an expression of the breath
As you breathe in the jaw relaxes open
As you breathe out the jaw relaxes closedYou are now starting to do Holographic Breathing. Spend about 10 mins doing this so as to start being used to it.
At this stage it is important to be doing this movement the right way round
The jaw opens on the in breath and the closes on the out breath. At first for some people it may seem easier to do this the other way round. It is important to do this the right way round for Holographic Breathing to work properly.
A regular question when we integrate the movement of the mouth with the breath is-
“I can not keep my tongue on the roof of my mouth while the jaw is moving up and down.”
You may have noted that this was easy to do at the beginning of exercise 4, but when integrating the movement of the jaw with the breath it becomes a little more difficult.
What I say to people is to put tongue on the roof of the mouth for a while and then let it come off and then after a bit put it back, until it becomes natural for the tongue to be on the roof of the mouth. It is generally just a knack.Another question that is sometimes asked is that Holographic Breathing feels awkward or even painful.
At a certain point the motion of the jaw will become part of the breath. At this point the jaw, whole face and cranium relax into the gentle motion of the breath it feels relaxed and lovely. It moves from a doing to a being. Here are some things to help through this period and transition. –
Slow down the breath and relax.
Relaxing the jaw, the tongue and relax the lips.
The movement of the jaw may be to large, try a smaller movement of the jaw.
If you think about it, when eating which requires a lot of pressure it is not painful or awkward. So the only way this would be painful or awkward is if you are doing it in a stressfully way.5
Doing Holographic Breathing
Slow down the breath and the movement of the jaw.
Relax the breath and the movement of the jaw.
relax the jaw open, relax the jaw closed
Relax the lips and allow them to stay closed all the time.
Relax the tongue and let it stay on the roof of the mouth all the time.
Relax the jaw. Even though it is moving it can be relaxed.Once this is starting to go and feels natural. –
The jaw stays free all of the time so the teeth do not touch-
On the in-breath the jaw is opening and the teeth are separating.
On the out-breath the jaw is closing and the teeth are almost coming back together but they do not quite touch
Do this for about 10 mins minutes.from here it is good to uses the free audio down load of the first seminar this take this further and integrates this movement and breath through the whole body. http://www.holographic-breathing.com/free-audio-seminars/cat_view/34-learn-with-free-audio-seminars
