OK since Blue Cafe went down well, now I have another idea. VERY short posts!
In 3 questions’ time I will be able to start understanding everything that is puzzling me, about ‘where you are coming from’ and about our conversation, and all you have to do is answer either YES or NO.
If you agree, here is question 1:
Are you familiar with the old zen story about the finger pointing at the moon?

OK – it is simple. [paraphrasing from vague memory].
The student asks the master many questions. The more questions he asks the master, the more information the master gives. The master eventually says, all of my answers to you are only stopping you from seeing the answer. They are allowing you to confuse yourself. They are like my finger pointing at the moon.
You are only looking at the finger. Please look at the moon.
So:
Question 2 –
When you do that thing I have ‘so eloquently’ characterised as saying ‘no, no…’ are you saying what that master was saying to his student? Are you saying, Nnonnth you are still looking only at the finger, please look at the moon?

If I could rephrase it - I'm saying: Nnonnth - stop looking at the damn finger, and forget about the moon - you can never see the moon - you can only ever see a finger pointing there, but never the actual moon. the reason is that *you are the finger* - you may look beyond the figer, but it's just an illusion - you may look beyond the finger to a bigger, more encompassing finger - and you can progress seeing many fingers etc. but while you still have a body you can not see the moon without fingers! lol - if that makes any sense
You should have answered only yes or no. Don’t worry I do NOT AND NEVER HAVE thought you ARROGANT!
