Hello Oompa!
I have been wery busy lately so the answer took some time.

Wonderful. Well, I have a diagnosis and a treatment strategy for you.The problems you describe are called Kidney and Spleen Yang Deficiency. Additionally, you have an exterior deficiency brought about by the wei qi not closing the pores. This is due to a lung qi deficiency. Even though your breathing has improved, you still need some more work on your lung. SO just keep those organs in mind when you’re practicing five animal qigong, etc.

well as a matter of fact I do not practise the five animal qigong yet. But I practise fusion, but see me as a beginner of fusion. I also wonder a litle about why you tink I have a spleen deficiency and combined with kidney yang defiency, which I am shore of already. I also wonder if not general lack of yang also gives the symtom of sweating???“”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
As for you’re sleep difficulties, if I hear you correctly, you’re waking at 3 in the morning? That is usually due to a liver imbalance/excess that spills over into your lung meridian. The BEST treatment for this is to visit an acupuncturist and have him needle your entry and exit points and spread liver qi. 3 o’clock is also significant in Anthroposophic medicine for the liver. If I were you, I would definitely mention that time of waking to your Anthroposophic MD.

Perhaps I was a bit unclear about this also: This symtom of being awake in the midle of the night is not a common symtom, if a symtom at all. It happens actually wery rarely. My insomnia that has been common is to fall asleep at all when I go to beed. To go earlier to bed helps against this. To go later creates what is called night fire, if I remember right, in the litterature about adrenal fatigue, and is a common symtom in that disease. It has happened some days lately though, that I am awake at those hours. It happens sometimes and I think always in connection to periods that I drink more cofe, which I do for the moment, but will consider in my new health care program, that is on it´s way to be created in my head, and where your advices might be a part of. 🙂

For self-treatment, you could get one of those moxa sticks (see link for instructions) and use it over BaiHui (top of your head, and the strongest yang point in your body) Mingmen, Dantien, Zusanli (see image), and the Yongquan on the bottom of your feet. Moxa those points in that order. Moxa on mingmen isn’t difficult at all if you lie on a bed on your stomach.

Ok, this sounds greate, but I will probably check it before I start with it. I plan to go to a herbalist from the TCM system. Also to tell here your diagnosis and let her check it with the pulses etcetera. Perhaps I will let her do her own diagnosis first and then compare it with yours and see what she think.“”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””2222
Herb wise, I’ll give you some suggested single-herbs that you can try to look for when you look at formulas. Deer Antler would be the number one herb for you, followed by ginseng (Korean is best, although Chinese would be good too), Astragalus, Cinnamon Bark and Cinnamon twig (they do more than what I said earlier about the feet; specifically they’re very good for your condition) and then those herbs should be balanced with yin tonics such as ho shou wu, rehmannia, goji. Other herbs that are extremely important are white atractylodes, and poria. Also, schizandra would be a great herb for you. Astragalus needs to be taken for quite some time and with these other herbs to be effective. It helps your sweating problem as well as raises your qi, thus helping your hemmoroids.

I will write out everything you write about those herbs, but probably I her will choose the herbalists suggestion before yours, if you not mind. If she is not succescul then I will ask her to check your suggestion. Money is an issue though so I can´t start everything at once. But as soon as possible though.“”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””22
That formula I suggested (Ten Complete Supertonic) contains many of the herbs I suggested, so that’s where I would start. Then, you might consider buying a deer antler product and a ginseng product. I know that company ships to Europe, although I’m not sure the shipping prices. And don’t let deer antler’s price scare you off too much–the results are profound, and you don’t usually need as much as you’d think. That company also has herbalists that work for them if you have any questions. SOrry, I don’t know of any Chinese herb companies in Europe..That’s just the company I recommend to everyone here in the US.

Yes, in time I will check it up. The women I will go to also import some herbs directly from china, so perhaps she knows the best way to continue!“””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
As for safety, moxa is safe, but of course, you could burn yourself with the stick so please be careful. Also, moxa and the herbs I suggested will make you MUCH warmer and the effect will eventually become permanent. But please make sure that you don’t become too hot as you could damage your yin. And just in case you have some underlying yin deficiencies, back off any of these remedies if you start getting hot symptoms like afternoon fever, palm heat, etc. But based on what you told me, you should be fine with these remedies–I feel I just have to throw out that caution for you to be mindful of.

Yes, I have read about the risk for burning yourself with moxa. I have tried it once myself also, actually I was working with a man that was an acupuncturist and a osteopath, some years ago. I think I can manage that part.“””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
Please let me know how this all works for you!

I realy apreciate your help, but I hope you do not mind if some of the treatments take some time for me to start. Your advices come in a good time though a time when I need to change something and a time when I´m already was on my way to the herbalist I already mentioned. I needed realy something else to try out beacase of the wery rare efects from the old treatment. I will also start some other ideas I have in a new program, that I will start soon. I am a bit slow to start new things, but also quite consisntent in my tryings, which also last quite long.
So, you have realy helped me and given me a stronger new hope for treatment. A hope that I not have gave up at all, but I realy needed the push at this moment!
Great! and many thanks.

I believe you may have Kidney-Spleen Yang deficiency due to several things you said–you tend more towards having diarrhea and you have hemorrhoids..additionally, you have cold arms and legs, the muscles of which are controlled by the spleen. It’s also possible that you have lung qi deficiency or heart yang deficiency, which would be an explaination of your profuse sweating. But overall, I didn’t find alot of symptoms of either one of those in my questioning, so I’m just calling an exterior deficiency which can usually be stabilized with herbs like astragalus and white atractylodes, given in the right dosages, which, btw, improve your spleen’s function greatly.
Yes, pass on all this info to your herbalist and let me know how it all goes for you!
October 31, 2010 at 1:21 pm #35525Swedich DragonParticipantHello Oompa thx for your kindness in trying to help me.
I will write out all what you have written and underline your suggestions. A new plan is forming in my mind, it is not completely new but an adjustment of the old one. I think some of your suggestions will be a part of it.
I will write down my new plan soon on the forum. It still has to develope inside of me first, and also I enjoy more freedom without a plan for the moment.
Some of my days I am amazingly happy! I wounder if it has to do with the universal tao practise? Another reason might be that I feel quite free in my life for the moment. Enjoy my work quite much, when I not work to much. Practise some and also physical exercises might add some energy and endorfines.
