Nothing Really new here, but if it stimulates some sharing of perspectives thats great. good night & good luck
Well if we look at the last experiment of governance the United States of America. We see that they feel that by using laws and certain institution they would create an environment of acceptance and fairness and peace would arise out of this. Some even speculate that they used a type of Feng Shui when building the capital. But mainly the idea is if there was environment of fairness and acceptance of that this would bring out peace and harmony in people. I happen to agree with the tactic of creating an environment of acceptance or neutrality and fairness. But it was like all environments or governments it was only as accepting, and fair as those that designed it and those that live in it. Slowly All environments will reflect the inner state of the people that inhabit it, or try to control it. So why do I say I agree with the tactic of creating an environment of acceptance or neutrality, well I am speaking of creating this environment internally. Right now most are stressed, battling with one thing after the next; so intern we in America are going from one battle to the next never ending and continuing to drain us of family members and wealth. But this is most peoples way of try to solve the problems. But for every manipulation there is a counter manipulation this is yin yang and is endless. Control freaks bread anarchist and so on. But there is a third option in the yin yang dance one that requires that you do only one thing and this is to hold a neutral space or a space of total unconditional acceptance (yuan). Eventfully you will have a feeling of home inside, and of deep peace and this will naturally translate to every action. It will start small but will continue to grow. You will feel resistance and see resistance externally but do not fight with it, if you fight with it then you are empowering it again just speak honestly and stay centered in the space of acceptance you have created. Change is viewed as death and a loss of power often by the old chi patterns you created and forgot about and the jingshen (bodyspirits) so they resist and this is good it test to see if you mean it and makes your center strong. But they can not resists your core nature your soul that is unconditional acceptance. So how do we see this externally, well the military industrial complex represents Po jingshen (body spirit) or metal element, big oil or energy represents Zhi jingshen or water element, big agriculture represents Yi jingshen the earth element, big media represents Hun jingshen the wood element think Hollywood, big religion/correctional industry represents shen jingshen fire element. This is not strict but you get the idea I hope. Also disharmony at this level of five can be reduce to yin yang duality or imbalance caused by the lack of neutrality or yuan.
We only had control for a short time but then we got scared of this world and wanted them to take care of things, we also did not want the power because that also meant responsibility, at first they where good protectors and providers not perfect but then they had and have fights about what is best for us and then they started to look down on us as weak and un fit to rule. Of course avoidance of responsibility is illusionary we choose to give them power, and we feel the results. To complain or feel a victim is to be in denial of the choose one made to take their birth right and be the acceptance that reduces duality and grows virtue in doing so, or not. This does not mean to speak honestly as best we can as I feel I have, I feel I am being fair to the best of my ability and honoring my role. We can also support this externally by increasing the space of acceptance and farness (free speech, freedom of religion, less external guidance but still boundaries, facilitating actual self correction), returning resources to counties or states like nationalizing big business but I feel more adaptability at state level or just cancel corporate charters. In internal terms this is claiming our body space, stomach Yi equals agriculture and so on as discussed before. I see it coming naturally in time and possibly way different then I might envision, but these are best guesses. We can enjoy the rhythms of yin and yang and heaven and earth if we simply accept them and give them space. Look at your home what does it do, nothing, it is not actively doing, but yet it is doing everything. May you stop your endless fight, and come home as soon as possible and any way you can.September 13, 2008 at 5:21 am #29128StevenModeratorTo answer the title of the post: impossible in general.
There is a huge tension between individual vs. collective, in
individual *with* collective, and in individual supporting or
disrupting collective, and in collective supporting or disrupting
individual. Oh, and by the way, the individual and the collective
are not separate from each other either–when you track to the source.Even if through some miracle of the dance of the dances,
you find a form a governance that is perfectly balanced
and supports a great flow and harmony, the problem is that things
are in constant flux–things change. They cease to be what they
were before. This is the nature of the Dao. Either the form
of governance mutates or there is a mutation in how the people
relate to it–and in actuality it is both. The only real solution is to step out of the dance, and work on
yourself. You can never create harmony for all if you can’t
create your own harmony. Otherwise you are chasing an illusion.Of course, since I am a Daoist hermit at heart, I may be biased. 🙂
