A eunuch in ancient China was a man castrated, typically early enough in his childhood to have major hormonal consequences in order to make him reliable servant of a royal court where physical access to the ruler could wield great influence. In China, castration included removal of the penis as well as the testicles. Both organs were cut off with a knife at the same time.
Many eunuchs came from poor families who couldnt repay debts. For this reason they had to sell to the local or royal court one of their children. A fee was charged to perform the operation. To castrate a kid, the surgeon had to use a carpenter knife and follow a complex procedure in order to avoid infections. Usually they performed the operation during spring or early summer, avoiding hot and cold temperature, mosquitoes, flies, etc. For about one month after the surgery the eunuch couldnt wear clothes.
for photos, see link below.
Note: Don’t try this at home. – Michael
Before to perform the operation, the surgeon usually aked few questions and assertions to the candidate: Are you willing to cleanse it?, Its too late to go back!, So you will die without sons. If the wannabe eunuch had any hesitations, the surgeon had to stop immediately. This obviously just in the case of voluntary eunuchs. If the candidate was instead volunteer, the surgical operation began. To disinfect the wound, the assistant of the surgeon used a hot pepper soup. After disinfected the scalpel with fire, the surgeon performed the operation. For three days after the surgery the new eunuch was not allowed to drink water. Only after one hundred days, the recovery was completed.
One other horrible way to perform the operation was hiring special nannies. Some parent decided his son had to be an eunuch since from his early age. They deliberately hire a maid to take care of the special child. For this reason, from their infancy, the maid performed a sort of slow and constant surgery on the testicles of the child, three times a day, pinching them and slowly increasing the strength, day after day, gradually destroying his reproductive function. Therefore the childs genitals would gradually shrink. In the course of time, slowly, female characteristics showed up: no Adams apple, prominent breasts, sharp voice, etc.

Prahlad Jani was permitted a small measured quantity of water to use as a mouthwash. He then spat the water into a beaker to verify that none had been drunk. An ultrasound, which was made of Mr. Jani’s bladder twice daily, indicated that there was urine accumulation, which subsequently decreased on its own without passing.
-VINCENT J. DACZYNSKI, Unexplained Mysteriesthe next face of the sadhana is again difficult, here the sadhak is applied for frequent urination, rather throught herbal medicine or throught more and more water consumption. when the urination starts, the sadhak hold his linga tightly and stop urine to come out. then he leaves it to flow the water. this excercise it being continued for at least 6 months.
now, sadhak does the deh suddhi through neti, dhyoti , basti, nauli and pranayam. after deh suddhi sadhak moves to another step.
he is applied for the practice of snaching the things throught linga. first thing is Air. he take air from linga and leaves it after holding it for atleast 10 minutes. when this step is crossed, sadhak does the same practice with water then with milk, then with honey.
finelly, when he is able to does it with honey, he s given a 8 samskarised mercury to practice with. he then practice it till 100gm of mercury is being subjected.
-http://nikhil-alchemy2.blogspot.fi/2010/09/vajroli-kriya-and-sahastrar-bhedan.htmlThe first time first time I saw my guru was at the Kumbh Mela festival in Ujjain in 1992. A sadhu pointed at him as he walked through the camp, then turnedto a woman devotee and said Beware of that yogi: if he gets inside you he will suck out all your energy…Because it is impossible to perform vajrolīmudrā without a pipe in the urethra the widespread understanding of vajrolī as a technique for absorbing mixed sexual fluids from a womans vagina at the end of sexual intercourse must be reconsidered.
-JAMES MALLINSON, Yoga and Sex: What is the purpose of Vajrolīmudrā?Mercury impacts the reproductive health of men as well. Exposure to organic forms of mercury was found to cause low sperm count, a reduction in libido and impotence in some subjects. More recently, an adverse effect of mercury on sperm motility was reported and another report describes an increased rate of spontaneous abortion in women whose partners were occupationally exposed to mercury vapor.
-http://www.mercout.com/ (What Mercury Does to Your Reproductive System)As there are these dangerous practices belonging to waidan, also well-known effects of mercury should make one to ask if vajroli mudra really should be exercised with quicksilver even in small dosages.
This is very difficult to understand so probably also this shouldn’t be done at home.
For example frenulum of tongue cutting makes sense for learning to master khecari mudra.

Any of the four stage of the small-scale gold production process, namely amalgamation, separation of amalgamation, removal of excess mercury, and burning of the remaining amalgam, release mercury in the environment. As a result and along Wikipedia, “11% of the human-generated sources of mercury (50% of the total, the other half comes from natural sources, such as the volcanic activity) comes from gold production. The three largest point sources for mercury emissions in the U.S. are the three largest gold mines. Hydrogeochemical release of mercury from gold-mine tailings has been accounted as a significant source of atmospheric mercury in eastern Canada”. It is acknowledged to be second only (thought quite far behind ) to coal combustion as a source of human-generated mercury emission in the atmosphere.
It is well known that mercury is highly toxic, causing damage to the nervous system at even relatively low levels of exposure. According to the World Health Organization: “Elemental and methylmercury are toxic to the central and peripheral nervous system. The inhalation of mercury vapour can produce harmful effects on the nervous, digestive and immune systems, lungs and kidneys, and may be fatal. ( ) Neurological and behavioural disorders may be observed after inhalation, ingestion or dermal application of different mercury compounds. Symptoms include tremors, insomnia, memory loss, neuromuscular effects, headaches and cognitive and motor dysfunction. ( ) Children are especially vulnerable and may be exposed directly by eating contaminated fish. Methylmercury bioaccumulated in fish and consumed by pregnant women may lead to neu¬rodevelopmental problems in the developing foetus. Transplacental exposure is the most dangerous, as the fetal brain is very sensitive. Neurological symptoms include mental retardation, seizures, vision and hearing loss, delayed development, language disorders and memory loss. In children, a syndrome characterized by red and painful extremities called acrodynia has been reported to result from chronic mercury exposure”.
March 9, 2014 at 10:33 pm #41976c_howdyParticipantHijras, (Hindi: हिजड़ा, Urdu: ہِجڑا, Bengali: হিজড়া, Kannada: ಹಿಜಡಾ, Telugu: హిజ్ర Punjabi ਹਿਜੜਾ) are also known as chhakka in Kannada and Bambaiya Hindi, khusra (ਖੁਸਰਾ) in Punjabi and kojja in Telugu. “Hijra”, as with many aforementioned terms is one of the many terms in the culture of South Asia used to refer individuals who consider themselves as transexual or transgender. Transgender people are also known as Aravani, Aruvani or Jagappa in other areas of India.
It is a common misconception within the South Asians and lack of respect for wanting to understand the transgender community, at the expense of transgender rights, that they assume hijras are “only men who have feminine gender identity, adopt feminine gender roles and wear women’s clothing”. When, in reality the community is diverse.
In Pakistan, the hijras identify themselves as either female, male, or third gender. The term more commonly advocated by social workers and transgender community themselves is, ‘khwaaja sira’ (Urdu: خواجه سرا), and can identify themselves as transexual person, transgender person (khusras), cross-dressers (zenanas) and eunuchs (narnbans).
-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hijra_(South_Asia)Sorry, but if one would really start to investigate this in contemporary settings one would need to go for example to South-Asia to make some kind of fieldwork, because this self-chosen version seem to be there very very alive.
Also Thailand etc.
But historically easily identifiable example from China is of course Zheng He, this famous mariner, explorer, diplomat and fleet admiral, who was both Muslim and eunuch.
Also that lineage, from which Leung Ting has received instruction for vagabond/beggar kung fu, supposedly have been established around 700 hundred years ago by an eunuch who after deserting his office and trying to gather a revolutionary movement actually became vagabond, street circus performer and career criminal, first of all thief.
For the later there understandably should be very little historical records.
But when looking at Chinese history it’s quite easy to see that children of both genders have been abused from the point of these times, I mean also too young girls have been used as concubines.
HOWDY
Ps. So my immediate answer would be no, not all eunuchs are necessarily docile, but also to make some study, one would need to check situation of the eunuchship in some other cultural contex like Islamic for example.
