Book Review: ‘Under A White Sky’ Examines What It Might Take For Humans To Continue To Exist.
Elizabeth Kolbert , winner of Pullitzer prize for he The Sixth Extinction, makes clear how far we already are from a world of undisturbed, balanced nature — and how far we must go to find a new balance for the planet’s future, one that still includes us.
She is raising the question for modern Taoists: is the “nature” we know the same Nature that Lao Tzu was writing about 25000 years ago? Kolbert claims we have alterned Nature with our over development of half the Earth’s landmass.
A Taoist might note that the underlying Yin-Yang and Five Phase cycles are still controlling everything, and that it is the ENERGETIC balance that must be harmonized, not its external form of manifestation.
Yeah, I also read this book and no doubt it’s too good and full of knowledge. I got it last month from https://www.reecoupons.com/categories/back-to-school, and its a quite interesting book, I must say its a worth buying book.
