Reading this forum, I see a lot of people describing things that can only be described as… far out. Organs talking to you, God’s penis copulating you in yoni form, abiding in yuan space possibly without creating proper density, spiraling the 50 letter-sounds of the sanskrit alphabet around the cranium, activating the primordial sound which is gradually captured into the center of the cranial void space in higher kriyas…
My question: Does it happen just like all this sounds or is there some level of metaphor going on? To my doubting side, it sometimes seems like these experiences might be a form of induced schizophrenia, and if that’s the case, they’re useless distractions and not worth cultivating. On the other hand, if some real good can come of it, it will be worth it.
Just wondering… After many years, I’m still at the basic level, it seems. My mind is noisy, body tense, posture poor, and there’s a tightness in my solar plexus that prevents full expansion of breath. It’s all going away slowly, though, so I hope to advance soon. I do the basic visualization techniques too, like the Inner Smile and Microcosmic Orbit.
One question about that: I’m disabled with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so most of the time, even just visualization work while lying down is tiring. It’s hard for me to make it through the whole Inner Smile or Orbit routine. Is it safe to shorten them? Or is there some other technique better suited for when I only have energy to concentrate for short periods of time?

I am on a to low level telling something of the more weired looking things on this forum. I have some experice that is real for me, but sounds weired for people not doing this stuff. They open me up to realise there might be many things possible when working with qigong and yoga that I can’t understund for the moment.
About the inner smile and orbit and tiredeness. I recognise this. Often when I am tired and want to do gigong I just breath into the stomach. Sometimes I got more energy from that and then continue whit the inner smile or something. For me lying down doing inner smile have been the best exercise when fatigued. When I was worse I sometimes felt it was demanding to do the inner smile. For me at that time I was litening to rexaxing tapes with someone telling how to relax, that I almost ever could do. If not then it was better to sleep.
I also do just one thing sometimes when fatigued. That is to smile with my lips and feel the smile in my mouth. It is also good to continue to the eyes. I think there is possibilities to shorten them. Just do one of the three inner smile toures is ok to. You can do them faster if you want. Or just part of them. Always return to the navel and collect and rotete there.

Keep going at it. The inner smile is cumulative. If you are sincere in your practice similing to a part or parts is better than not.
Good luck and happy smiling.
January 28, 2009 at 12:08 pm #30348Tantra11ParticipantThanks, SD! I seem to have thought of doing exactly the same things, and it’s great to hear that it worked for you. I hope to someday be at your level of health, and I also hope that one day we both achieve the highest levels.
Have you learned how to relax yet? That’s still hard for me. As is smiling, but I’m getting better at it. LOL. Seems like a funny thing to have difficulty with, but I think a lot of people have the same problem. Life is hard, but we don’t have to make it harder on ourselves. See life as the miracle it is, thankful just for each breath, each good thing we do have. Then energy will flow more freely through our bodies. I think that’s what the smile is all about.
I have experienced some unbelieveable things too, so maybe I should just have faith. Just don’t have too much faith and follow every charlatan, know what I mean! That’s the danger of the other side of being too skeptical or not skeptical enough. If it’s real though, I will go into it fully.
January 28, 2009 at 12:09 pm #30350Tantra11ParticipantThanks. I’ll do it!

Hello! This system of qigong is the thing that have helped me back to life. But actually it was the first thing I did that helped me the most. The breathing into the stomach. That was beacase my tan tien was blocked and full of stress. When that was dissolved, wchich happened with an explosion in my navel area, an explosion that realy hurt and burned and was a real bang!, then I started to got more energy and after a few mounths I could work at about 25% and a year at 50%, where I am at now also. To practise when having an illness gives you hope and something possitive to do. See it as an important job and an adventure into yourself.“”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””

There is always tension and relaxation is to let them go a litle, that is something you always can do. Do it now and feel your shoulders sink down a relax a litle more just now, when reading this. It works. Doing more qigong and yoga you getting better and better at it. It is good to see all even tiny improvements as a nice step forward. Not to have expectations of how it should be, then you can’t fail. The relaxation in it self will give you a lot of energy. Working with relaxation is a well integrated part of my practise for the moment, but also an issue doing alot iron shirt for the moment. Comming into contact with alot of tension in my neck and shoulders. Living with alot pressure for the moment. But Knowing that the contact with it even though painful is the first step to dissolve it. I think relaxation is the thing we all working with on all levels of achivement!Smiling. At first it might feel funny or wrong to smile when you have nothing to smile at while doing the practise of the inner smile. Later when you have learned to aprichiate the effect of the inner smile and its production of good energy in all your body and in all your organs, it is not anymore a weired thing to do. Instead you do it much naturally. Don’t try to much more let it happen and you will come into it faster. When you feel into the organs, have not expectation to feel something special. If you feel darkness then that is what there is if you feel nothingness then that is what there is. So there are realy no way that you can fail here either. There is always a feeling if you look into your heart for instance. After a while you will reach a contact with the organ and feel into it and feel with it. That is amasingly greate. When I am doing this exercises regularly I realy enyoj myself and the world. The energy is with me long parts of the day and then I realy love the world and peple also like me and are more relaxed with me. This have been a wery good thing when I have been working as a teacher, beacase I realy got connected to the class and they feel and apreasiate it. And it is easier to react to problems in the class in a nice way that the pupils feel is an reaction with heart.
Keep on smiling and relaxing and learn to love it even more!!! It works!!!! That part of the practise I can guarantee u is working!!!!!

Faith is the thing that have helped me the most in the working with the cure of myself. I realy did go into the most deepest part of myself and started to visualise how my life would be when I was cured. What I wanted to do then and how I would be enjoying doing it. But most of all to deep into myself realy feel that I new I should do what was nessesary to cure myslf what ever the cost. This was the cornerstone in my faith to find a cure. And it was necessary also beacase I was tortured every night for many hours with an increadible coldness. I had to ancour faith inmyself to be able to continue living no matter how painful the momentarily situations was.The thing is to be open to new ideas, but still feel into yourself intuitively all the time what is good or what is bad and all the aspects inbetwean. I can just tell you from my own experince and from what I have read, that one of the most postive things doing qigong exercises is that you ability to distinguish betwean the real and the unreal will increase tremendously.
Regarding this practise and other practises with taoist yoga. I think it is a good thing to not be to much in the mind. For example to read about stages in the process that are far ahead from your capabilities at the moment. And to judge the method from if you believe in that high practises of not. That is not the way to proceed as I see it. Instead learn the practises at your level. Go into it seriosly and enjoy it! Then judge is this practise I do for the moment a good thing in my life, is this something I want to continue with. What is the next step I want to learn and develope. Learn it and practise the new for a while seriously, then look at it and see, was it good or bad. In this way I think it is nearly impossible to be lured. Pehaps you try a practise that don´t work for you, then it is just to go back to that which did work and look for something else in another direction.
When you are still just in head and not have intergrated, then it is possible to folllow an charlatan. If intergrated you will notice something is wrong. I think so anyway.
