I’m 5 years into my kundalini awakening and 2 years into Michael’s system.
Along the way I’ve sometimes had bouts of insomnia. Lately, the past month or so, it has increased in frequency. It’s nearly every day now. I’m averaging 3-5 hrs sleep per night.
My body doesn’t get tired. It’s like adrenaline is being released. The next day when I’ve slept very little I will usually feel hypersexual – unusually horny, and break my intention of non-masturbation (normally try to limit to once every 10 days or so).
I don’t think it’s an organ imbalance or anything. It feels rather “clean”. I’m also unsure how negative it really is – I am focusing on mostly accepting it, and am experiencing some really great spiritual and personal progress along the way. My body handles the insomnia way better than just three weeks ago. There’s some positive stuff here. Maybe it’s the kundalini flaring up and clearing blockages. I don’t know. Sometimes I’m even ensure whether it’s kundalini I experienced or just an energy imbalance. Hard to say.
I did the 5 major Healing Love exercises some months ago. Never listened to the CDs but am thinking I might look into that. Learned from an instructor. The orbit and standing in stillness make no difference either by the way.
I wanted to create this thread in case any of you are thinking “man, this ___ is exactly what’s happening and you need to do ___”. Not sure if that’s how it works, but always nice to source the collective intelligence and hopefully get a bit wiser :).
Thanks
December 19, 2015 at 11:43 pm #45480StevenModeratorThe real test for you is whether or not your body genuinely feels tired and needs to rest. If you feel awake, but you feel like you are on a caffeine high, then this is different from feeling awake because you body genuinely doesn’t feel the need for sleep . . . i.e. it’s not being kept awake because its being stimulated to stay awake despite its true needs.
Your two sentences . . .
>>>My body doesn’t get tired. It’s like adrenaline is being released.. . . I feel are in conflict.
If your body is not tired, you should feel rested.
If you are awake because you feel like you on an adrenaline high, this is not a rested body. This is a tired body that is being kept awake by adrenal (kidney) depletion. So this is why I feel your two sentences are in conflict. So which is it: is your body not tired OR is adrenaline being released?Only YOU know what the truth of the situation is.
You need to look internally and answer this question yourself.
Not one person is going to be able to answer this for you and give you any kind of reliable answer. Only YOU know your body and what you are feeling. If your body genuinely needs sleep, then sleeping so little is a problem and you are likely wearing out your adrenals (kidneys). On the other hand, if your body genuinely does not need it, then there is absolutely no concern.
And the only way to know which of these is true, is for you to look within and answer for yourself which of these is true. NO ONE can give you “a magic answer”. You need to go within and accurately assess for yourself, exactly what you are feeling.
Qi,
StevenP.S. Any changes to the stomach issue you had earlier?
December 20, 2015 at 1:15 pm #45482PerceiverParticipantThanks for the reply Steven. I’m not sure what my intuition tells me. I sure like the personal and spiritual development but I’d like to have it without the disruptive insomnia and over-excited body. I think it might be linked to sexuality somehow. My intuition sort of tells me to look into the Healing Love cds as I never listened to them, just did the 5 main exercises. Maybe there’s something hidden there.
PS my stomach issue hasn’t resolved yet.
December 20, 2015 at 7:43 pm #45484StevenModeratorDo you drink coffee?
Or caffeinated soft-drinks, like coca-cola?
Or energy drinks, like red bull, monster, etc.?If you are, I would cut all this stuff out.
Many folks live on this stuff, but if you start doing a lot of qigong and other spiritual practices, due to the extra energy you receive, your body simply can’t handle artificial stimulants. If these are in your diet, you may not be able to get much sleep.I’m suggesting this among other things, because obviously if you are enjoying the fruits of your spiritual development, you want that to continue. But aggravating factors are easy to eradicate. Getting rid of artificial stimulants is a good first step.
Having said that . . . if your intuition is telling you that it somehow connected to sexuality, and it is suggesting something to you, it is worth exploring. Often we know deep down what the issues are, but we often look for some alternative solution that allows us to continue to ignore the real issue . . . either because we don’t want to change certain habits or certain ways of thinking.

December 27, 2015 at 2:35 pm #45488StevenModeratorI wouldn’t dismiss this so quick. While it may not be the only cause, I’m sure it is an aggravating factor. If a person becomes more sensitized to energy and doing energy practices, artificial stimulants just don’t agree with the body. They keep it too wired and the body can’t settle down. If you want to get rid of your insomnia, I’d consider removing all aggravating factors. But up-to-you.
FYI: It takes about 2-3 weeks for the body to adjust from a complete caffeine detox.
