Wendy,
Also I agree, nice post. A person can also be ‘happily’ married to spirituality and the joke is they don’t know it.
Thanks.
April 2, 2010 at 4:12 pm #33634baguaParticipantHi Wendy:
Very nice post, a top ten post.
In my view alchemy is about the here and now, not some future place, some other realm, the essence of tao practices seems to be to live in this world, in this moment, right now, which is the portal for anything to manifest/Wu Ji.
thanks,
baugaApril 3, 2010 at 12:07 am #33636StevenModeratorHi ChiFiend,
OK, I’m back for a little while . . .
First some quick general comments about doing the “whole lineup” as listed
on the Recommended Sequence page:1. Primordial Qigong and Deep Healing Qigong are stand-alone forms,
and can be learned AT ANY TIME, including the beginning. Although
not a prerequisite, most people have picked up Primordial before
LKL (Lesser Kan and Li), and is considered to be a *favorite* form
of many. Deep Healing Qigong is a much longer form (and thus you
need some patience to learn it), but packs a wallop–my favorite.
It’s kind of a “Greatest Hits CD” video of the qigong of the system and
gives you a preview of stuff to explore later in more detail, and
the form gets deeper and more powerful as you progress in the system.
I recommend learning these side-by-side as you learn the system, with
the goal to learn them both before Fusion 1 (in my opinion).2. Taoist Dream Practice is a good side practice, but you don’t need
it as a prereq. for LKL.Personal Suggestions:
1. If you want to follow the OPTIMAL approach, just follow the
Recommended Sequence with the above two comments in mind. The
optimal strategy includes you spending 100 days in practice AT EACH
LEVEL (i.e. QF1, QF2, QF3, etc.) of the system before moving forward.
Thus tortoise approach would not have you start LKL until 2-3 YEARS
after starting the 1st formula (pre-LKL).*Personally*, I think this is a GOOD IDEA.
Too many people go through the system too quickly, in my opinion.
Too eager to move on; feel too pressured by class peers; feel too
overconfident from Michael’s support (note: Michael himself is a
rabbit; rabbits consider themselves slow when they see hawks, so
he’s got some hawk blood in him ^_^ ). General rule: Slower
is usually better.2. Reread Wendy’s post about “Energy Junky” about 10 times.
3. If you feel “impatient” and want to rush ahead to the “powerful”
stuff, repeat step 2 🙂4. If you have the funds, buy several Video+Audio packages at once. That
way, if you DO get impatient, you have another thing to go to. Plus,
some packages have discounts when you buy them together–check the
website.HAWK Approach:
I’m only adding this in, because you’ve been asking for it.
I am a little reluctant to provide it, because I’m a tortoise and
I’m all about safety, but at the same time I realize that sometimes
people need to find things out for themselves and are going
to “pooh pooh” the optimal strategy . . . and at least by
following this you’ll be semi-safe as opposed to being completely
reckless . . .Remember though, several of us have tried to dissuade you from this
approach. Reread “Energy Junky”. In particular, it is MY OPINION,
that most people go through the formulas too fast for their own
good anyway, let alone trying to shortcut Michael’s recommended
sequence. So I suggest this with GREAT RESERVATION.My comments here apply ONLY to you, given your background, and only
if you can’t restrain yourself . . . but as I mentioned before,
you take responsibility for any side effects and to your own development;
should negative results start to arise, immediately abandon hawk approach.1. Get the whole lineup, leading up to LKL, so that you have it
at your disposal in case you “need” it. Also, BUY “Way of the
Inner Smile” Guided Meditation CD. It’s a supplementary product.2. Given your background with sexual energy techniques, you may
skip buying the Healing Love/Tao of Sex AUDIO course in your purchases
. . . unless you are a sexaholic completist and want to
add it to your library . . . because you really already have
the tools from prior study, and the audio CDs won’t break much
new ground for you (i.e. you may regret having spent the money).
The VIDEO would be worth getting, as it includes some kidney building
qigong (which can support sexual energy cultivation).3. Follow the program as indicated:
A. Use the “Way of the Inner Smile” CD for some guided meditations.
Impatience may make you feel antsy to sit through 1hr 20min meditation,
but if you can force those feelings away while the meditation is
going on, you will feel GREAT afterward.B. Use the QF1 Video to Learn the “5 Animals”; skip the seated “6 Healing
sounds” and pick up when convenient. Skip the QF1 audio course and
pick up when convenient.C. While still learning the 5 Animals and using the “Inner Smile” CD,
you can jump ahead to the QF2 audio course. Fast forward to where
Michael describes his “Secret Wudang Method” of Opening the Microcosmic
Orbit, and learn that. It is a powerful method, and fundamental to
his later courses. Spend a lot of time on this one.
The rest of QF2 audio, as well as QF2 video you
can pick up when convenient.D. After learning these three things, if you are anxious for more
arsenal to add to your sexual techniques, you can learn the stuff
off the Sexual Vitality Qigong video at any time. If your emotions
start running wild/erratic, and you start feeling “unstable”, back
off on this until going through Fusion.E. While still learning the Inner Smile, 5 Animals, and Wudang Micro Orbit,
skip directly to QF4 video and learn the 3 “Standing in Stillness” I-Chuan
postures / “Bone Breathing”. Skip the other stuff, and pick up the
other tools on the QF4 video,
as well as the QF4 audio and the QF3 package when convenient.F. Even being a hawk, spend time on the “Cardinal 4”: namely
Inner Smile, 5 Animals, Wudang mO, 3 I-Chuan postures. As mentioned above,
if you are really impatient and being a hawk, you can learn all 4
simultaneously right from the beginning.G. Only after Section F, use the Fusion 1 CDs
to learn Fusion 1. Focus on learning the three
Fusion “mandala” meditations:
Creation cycle, Cross, Spinning Bagua Vortices.H. While still learning Fusion 1, use the Fusion 2/3 Video
to Learn Pangu Mystical Qigong (takes 5 minutes to learn).
You can skip the other stuff on the video, and pick them up
when convenient.I. Go through Fusion 2/3 audio CDs *carefully*.
This is when the “power channels” get opened up and kick in,
i.e. volume is turned up.
You do not want to skip *any* of it, and this course is the
natural feeder into LKL.The above is the ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM I could suggest
for you given your background . . . but again, I caution
you that this is a hawk approach, and I strongly suggest
you just follow the whole sequence methodically. Please
reread Wendy’s “Energy Junky” post again. Keep in mind,
that everyone’s constitution is different, and things
could get triggered and you could have problems. If
problems do start to arise, immediately return to the
“Cardinal 4” and spend a lot, A LOT, of time on the
material in QF3 and QF4 for getting grounded
(even though it might on first pass seem like it
doesn’t have much juice). But as I close here, one last time I want to reiterate
that the “end goal” is not important, nor is the “seeking
after”. It’s all right here; right now. It’s your life
as is, right here, right now in the present moment that is the
most important thing to tune into. The tools are just
things to help you play and get you to enjoy the present
moment more; do not get attached to an end goal; it is
the PROCESS that matters. My best to you,
StevenP.S. Heart healing sound and Crane Movement (5 Animals)
are good tools to help you with impatience.April 3, 2010 at 4:17 am #33638user244075ParticipantChiField,
I would think a lot of us here would also like to hear about your experience when you go to Tao Garden. Afterwards if you wouldn’t mind sharing your experience good or bad I would like to hear it.
Regards.
April 3, 2010 at 4:12 pm #33640voiceParticipant…who you became, while connecting close with stars and immortals, that energy you came to radiate, that is part of what attracted me to you and allowed us to have this amazing connection. So, while I agree that it is important to ground our experience in this life, we cannot limit ourselves to this earthly life.
April 4, 2010 at 12:42 am #33642StevenModeratorHi ChiFiend,
>>>I think that you, Steven, are a prince in a tortoise shell. 😉
Thank you for your kind words. 🙂
>>>Knowing full well that there was a very good chance
>>>that the information would just remain on a dusty shelf
>>>for eternity, you went to the trouble to think up a
>>>personalized alternate route for me. On top of what
>>>sounds like a very demanding schedule already,
>>>that was so thoughtful and unselfish. My feeling was that even if you didn’t use any of my post
in a practical sense, that hopefully it would be helpful
nonetheless just from the discussion. So, in other words,
I didn’t consider it a waste of time at all. We are all
in it together. I wish you all the best in your journey.>>>as I said in an earlier post, the more I read up on it
>>>and get feedback from others, the more that the standard
>>>lineup is sounding interesting and appealing. If my discussion of a personalized “fast” approach helps you
to decide to not go fast, then I consider that a win 🙂And in the event that you decide to not focus on an end goal,
but just enjoy the process, then I would encourage you to
enjoy the process as deeply as possible. As part of this,
and part of the joy of exploration, I would encourage you
to take advantage of what multiple high-level teachers have
to offer (as getting to some *goal* is not important). Thus,
in addition to Michael, I’d also consider picking up all
instruction I could from Master Chia and other high-level
senior instructors as well as Michael. Being so close to
Tao Garden, I’d exploit that advantage to the max, along with
diving headlong into Michael’s program.
M. Chia has a lot of healing protocols you can take
advantage of at Tao Garden, as well as private lessons you can
get with instructors that reside there, aside from classes he
might offer when he’s there and not on his world tour.I’m a big fan of the “not being an either-or” person.
Being an “and” person always gives you more. ^_^
. . . if you don’t mind ignoring the feeling of being
overwhelmed with so much to learn . . . but then again,
you don’t want to run out of things to learn, right?>>>May Allah bestow a thousand virgins upon you in heaven.
>>>Whoops, I’d better be careful what I wish upon you.
>>>We probably do not share the same wet dreams, or, now
>>>that I am doing semen retention, how shall I say — yang dreams? The problem with virgins is that they oftentimes have
repressive views toward sexuality (otherwise, they wouldn’t
be virgins ^_^ — unless they just haven’t had the opportunity).
[Excuse my humor :)]But if many eager participants for engaging in sexual activity
is what you wish for me, then far be from me to dissuade you 😉Many well wishes for you,
StevenApril 4, 2010 at 7:58 am #33644wendyParticipantMy Chris, it is weird to talk to you through a public forum, VERY unlike us to be so exposed 🙂
One would say the turtle approach is the wise path (as Steven suggests strongly), the hawk or rocket ship approach is not/less preferable.
Yet it all depends so much on your personality, your patterns you bring in this life, the particular lessons we have to learn by trial and error.
Yes, I took the upside down path, flying hard and high and bouncing back to digest for the next 9 to 10 years, by going very slow to try to understand and make it part in a fully integrated way. What you saw and attracted was the glimpse of the other realities through the cracks of my physical earthly being.
Living just within and from those realities is not sustainable, unless you define yourself a ‘guru’ or ‘master’ (for that you need a lot of yang energy to manifest the other worlds into this reality). The very physical day to day reality is far from the seemingly perfect other worldly realms. That is why we all strive for it so hard, to touch it, to feel it, to be touched by it.
That is why we want to be close to those who expose it, radiate it and manifest it in this worldly realm. We are hungry for the ‘divine’, we want to bath in it, or at least have a zip, a bite from it.How we accomplish that is very personal, and very unique for every individual.
Yes there are pathways, guidelines like the Healing Tao system and so many other paths to take, but ultimately it is once personal map, the unique YOU that will define which path is the most desirable path for that particular person. Some have to go through deep valleys, facing horrible demons inside themselves to surface as a phoenix. Some walk a path as a monk. Some go slow, some hit walls to be able to learn, etc etc.
At the end it is important, most important, to feel, to know and to be able to say
I DID IT MY WAY … 🙂
