These are taken from Huai-Chin Nan’s book, ‘Tao and Immortality’.
He says himself first, “Why does one have to overcome the uphill double barrier until mind and matter are one?” Then he gives some quotes including:
Kuei Chong said, “The original divine light cannot be brought into full play because of the barrier created by matter and the body.”
Nan Chuang said, “The wonderful function of the original ubiqitous power does not depend upon matter. But the Tao must be manifested in matter since otherwise it could not be seen.”
Manjusri said, “When all is emptied it is not to create an empty phenomenon.”
I believe his original question and his choice of quotations go some way towards answering the charge of ’emptiness for emptiness’ sake’. But the method is different again from anything practiced here, that’s all.

Before I came across toaist Ideas on death I was into the Idea of the Atman heaven and the earth(matrix) would come together to produce humanity. I have also seen it called divinity and biology give birth to humanity. I heard allot of people living the yoga life style talk about the ego individual would die, then the atman would move on and the body would be returned to the earth. Of course the atention was on the atman but both the atman and the earth was not destroyed all that was un made was the human that was the result of the interaction. But to say that you are the Atman or you are the jingshen I think misses the point. It also brings up what people often call indigo childeren, as I like to think of as soul10.0. The one I belive is getting wiser whith its combinations for a happy marriage of linear and non linear, subtle and crude. This sexual relationship is messy, sometimes you wish you where single again(especialy the Atman) sometimes you find deep completion in each other and you are happy to raise the kids, other times divorce, and you move on. I see the same repeated mesage in allot of traditions but most do focus on the masculine aspect of heaven or atman after death. Since we are talking about Budha I feel that Budha was here to help with the mind of humanity which may be the hardest to intergrate, I feel has an issue with this marriage it also has integrity issues it is the most subtle and has a hard time finding its place. But finding its heart(Budha pictures & statues smiling later in life) its truth in the process it becomes the true spiritual power of imagenation. I hope I added something to this conversation.
