Feeling somewhat inspired to write a new entry
in the practice log . . .After feeling like I had been struck by a string
of bad luck, I decided to go in deep to locate the
problem. Part of me felt like there were some
dark forces at work, so I decided to do the Deep Healing
Qigong and direct my intention toward whatever
was causing the problem. On Dec. 9, 5:30pm-6:15pm, I did the Deep Healing Qigong.
Very early into the bathing sequence, I felt sort of
light-headed and woozy–sort of like some toxic influence
was being ripped out and the sudden change was disorienting.
As I continued to do the bathing, I kept feeling like I
was going to faint/collapse at any minute. However, at
the same time, I knew that that was not going to happen, and
whatever it was, was beneficial and I needed to keep doing it.
When I got to the spiral love part, I immediately felt
better–way better. It was as if I had thrown something off
of me. Immediately I felt a mood shift to something
really positive–a state I realized that I hadn’t felt
in a while, but didn’t realize that I had been out of
the state until I felt it return.I temporarily put practicing aside to do other things, to
return later for the Winter Solstice new moon ceremony. This, I did, later that night. Shortly before midnight,
I returned to my meditation room, and lit 5 candles. I
put one in each direction and one in the center of the room.
Starting in the north, I did a chi ball type qigong motion
in repetition while expressing my ceremonial intent. Having
a tibetan bowl gong automatically chime at 5 minutes, I
moved to the east and repeated. Again 5 minutes later when
it chimed, I moved to the south. Repeated again, and moved
to the west; repeated again, and moved to the north. I
repeated once more, and moved to the center of the room.
For the last 5 minutes, I did Deep Earth Pulsing. When the gong chimed again, I turned the gong off, and went
through a round of Primordial Qigong. Then I decided to finish
off the ceremony with the Deep Healing Qigong once more.
This time, I did the advanced version, where the bathing
sequence is repeated 5 times for each direction. Strangely
enough, even though the form is much longer this way, and
even though I had been doing qigong for quite a while already,
I didn’t experience the light-headed/woozy/ill feeling I
felt the first time, earlier that evening. It was as if the
round earlier in the evening had already taken care of the
problem, and now I was able to just enjoy the profound
pleasure of the form and the pleasant feelings throughout
my body.Having finished the Deep Healing Qigong, I brought the
ceremony to a close. -
