So the furthest i ever got in my “formal studies” of qigong is LKL. Yet a couple of days ago i had this powerful sun and moon alchemy initiate itself and my orbits haven’t been the same since.
What’s been happening is this: i circulate an orbit in the back between the kidneys. it seemingly never going to the front channel; then this moves up and circulates back to front in the chest, say between the top of the sternum and the solar plexus, in both channels; then it circulates around the head from say the larynx to the crown back to front, in both channels; then it circulates ABOVE the head, up in the air, maybe just grazing the crown if you will at the bottom of the orbit.
It does kind of a cycle between these areas, rarely doing a full orbit but preferring to move between these sub orbits. Now i don’t find this surprising, but the orbit above the head on it’s own is completely new to me. I’m also curious as to why it insists on going in “sections”. It seems like it’s working free blockages, but i’m not absolutely sure.
Anyone else ever experience this or have additional insights?
One other note: when the sun-moon alchemy initiated, the Sun quite clearly came from below, the Moon from above. I’m guessing this is the “true yin” and “true yang” at work?March 13, 2008 at 5:14 pm #27738
Check back in with the 8 Extraordinary Vessel practices. That set of practices uses mini-orbits in the light body. One practice uses figure 8’s above, thru and below the body. The 8 Extraordinary Vessels are mini-orbits. Possibly your k&l cooking has freed up your awareness to the smaller orbital exchanges happening everywhere.
Look at the I-Ching too. There are mini orbits everywhere… the parings, the hidden sides, the cousins, within the 8 spirit helpers and within the shen it’s self.
The other note: I’d guess we end up with the sun below the moon becasue that is the way we were trained to do it and the archtypes work well for the “cooking.” True Yin and True Yang can be realized any which way you stack it….
Happy orbiting & don’t forget to Smile. 😉
