October 14, 2007 at 4:35 pm #24844StevenModeratorHi Jason!
It’s taken awhile for me to get through a sea of old forum posts . . .
Having finally gotten caught up, I just wanted to say
that I’ve been enjoying the blog you created. Certain aspects
I have to admit I don’t quite understand due to certain
lack-of-background issues on my part, but there is always
some part of each article that I can identify with.I found your discussion on Buhlman quite interesting, as
much of what you described there resonated quite well with
me–having experienced some of his truths for myself albeit
not in an out-of-body experience. It almost makes me want
to try astral projection/OBE myself. Speaking of which,
do I remember reading somewhere(?) that (among other things)
you practice astral projection?Oh, BTW, do you have any story behind the picture strip at the
top of your page?Wishing you well,
StevenOctober 14, 2007 at 6:49 pm #24846NnonnthParticipant… I think you were missed! Certainly by me.

Welcome back again, let us know how you're getting on… have you found out any more about that gut-twisting and so on, for me it has been very interesting trying to gradually straighten out all that… best j

Thank you for your kind words!
Regarding my absence:
I intentionally took a little vacation from the board, because
when reread over some of my posts at the time, I felt I was
being too depressive. I wasn’t in a good state. I had
felt like I was a complete failure (i.e. wounded soul). In short, I needed to step away–gain some perspective and stability,
and also not annoy others with my sombre posts 🙂Regarding your blog and comments:
I will be looking forward to your future posts in your blog . . .
>> “stabilizing that light and mating it with the dark in one’s ordinary mind.”>>
what a great line!
S: It almost makes me want
to try astral projection/OBE myself.
J: Well feel free if you choose! Although it’s not a specific part of the practices taught here I guess. Some taoists do practice it though for sure. I will devote a post to it later on and give some info, also on the ‘alchemical/immortality’ aspect of it which does exist funnily enough.Well, although I *mostly* resonate with the alchemical Taoist system, I have
no resistance to looking into things external to it that seem to jive
with me . . . In this case, I actually know nothing about astral projection/OBE,
but my interest has been tweaked at any rate!S: Speaking of which,

I’m trying to cultivate more of a feeling
of self-acceptance. I would be lying if I said that I’ve resolved these
issues, but I’m more stable now, more accepting, and (trying) to be less
self-critical.Regarding the intestinal disorder, it is firstly a
genetic susceptibility/weakness. Secondly, I have some big
personal issues. Unfortunately, with these issues, I feel pulled into two
different, seemingly incompatible, directions. What has then happened
is that this “tug-of-war stress” combined with the associated depression
over feeling like I have no answer/resolution has placed itself into the
area in my intestines where the genetic weakness lies. This is the cause.I could speak more specifically about the issues involved, but I’d
prefer to do so offline (I can speak more if you provide
your email/an email).Smoking is still the only thing that
seems to help with intestinal damage and pain; of course, the
fact that smoking is such a societal stigma and so few people
could honestly believe it can be helpful in small amounts, cause
me to “hide” that also–which just adds to the problem. Thus the problem gets amplified even further when I develop
an incompatibility between who am I and who I “think” I should be.
Therefore, I have found that that concerted practice with the Inner Smile
does help engender feelings of self-acceptance–that while not
solving the underlying problem, does seem to help minimize
some of the ongoing underlying damage–which allows the
maintenance level of nicotine “therapy” to be less.Long story short, the problem is not resolved. I am still
trying to deal with it. However, I’m in a more emotionally
stable place right now–despite the fact the problem still exists.Smiles to you,

Does the illness in yur intestines have any name? Is it Crons in particular?S Dragon
October 15, 2007 at 1:33 pm #24854StevenModerator>>However I do totally understand the need to be away for a while and will be doing the same thing myself later on.
Just don’t disappear for too long 🙂
You’re a valuable asset to the list!>>Well yes I will be writing more about this of course on the blog… whats funny to me really is that from my perspective Buhlmans way is all wrong! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Ill be setting out what in my opinion (and not just mine I hasten to add) makes the practice into a real one that gives real results. These days astral projection has become easier because of the high-vibrational environment, but there is a problem for people who want to use it seriously in that it can turn completely delusional and become a total waste of time – unless you know a few simple things to keep you on track and are prepared to do the extra work.
I’ll be looking forward to this!
>>It has to do with the fact that truly astral projection mimics the death process…
All I have to say here is wow. Uh, um yeah.
S: Regarding the intestinal disorder, it is firstly a

This is the cause.<>Dont forget that although your genetics may be giving you your start off it has already been proven that qigong (amongst many other things) can alter DNA, thats been talked about on here already. This probably one of the reasons that the Deep Healing Qigong is the
other practice that seems to agree with me so well (since it contains
elements of the higher formulas–which I hear can help heal genetic issues).
Actually, I’m quite looking forward to learning the higher formulas at
some point; to hopefully learn more techniques for attacking the genetic
side–aside from any spiritual benefits, which are attractive in and of
themselves.S: I could speak more specifically about the issues involved, but I’d
prefer to do so offline (I can speak more if you provide
your email/an email).<>since the whole issue apparently revolves in some way around pleasing others in order not to be yourself, and now well, youre going to insist on being yourself.Yes there is some truth here. More privately . . .
>>Dog mentioned having a good word to the plant itself before smoking and I second that. Give the plant some respect if you can. Its a holy herb on the american continent, and it only does us damage through indiscriminate use and obssession etc.
Good point.
S: Therefore, I have found that that concerted practice with the Inner Smile

J: You know Ill say to you what I said to Dragon neutral still sitting might really help here. The reason being that in that way you accept absolutely anything that comes up. Its a shame but that kind of practice became controversial on here some time back owing to a Buddhist v. Taoist punchup that was going on. This I think might have been before your time though.Yeah, I wasn't here during any such discussion.
I think that that is kind of silly. Any time anyone "locks" themselves
into a particular system they immediately shut down the possibility
of growth that can be had outside the system. NO one system
has all the answers. Actually neutral still sitting does have an appeal
to me also. I may try that as well.Best,
SteveOctober 15, 2007 at 1:37 pm #24856StevenModeratorNo, it wasn’t given a name.
The doctor called it “a mechanical problem”.
That is, the intestines and associated nerves malfunction causing
pulsing, tremors, cramping, gas, inflammation, and intestinal pain.It is not Crohn’s because there is no internal bleeding.
In principle, it is something between “irritable bowel” and
“ulcerative colitis”, although it is neither one in particular. It wasn’t given a name.
It’s painful though.S

… the author from who I learned the most on the difference between real and delusionary astral projection is the veteran New York-based sorcerer and occult author, Draja Mickaharic. I corresponded with him a little a few years back, mostly to thank him for his writing, and we talked about Taoist techniques amongst other things.
He mentioned at that time that although he was not interested in longevity techniques or immortality himself really, he had come across some very interesting things on this subject during his 60-odd years of magical practice. He said that one day "after other more important things are out of the way" he was thinking of writing a small book on what he knew, just for people's curiosity and it appears he was as good as his word because this book was just published in May, I must have missed it – link below.
I doubt it will teach anything concrete about the attainment of immortality as Michael does and it may not interest people here, but I'm a big fan of his so I will definitely be checking it out at some stage. If there is anything it that would interest people I will talk about it in the blog or on the board you may be sure.
What's very interesting if you look at the lulu page for this book is that 'astral projection' is one of the tags. That confirms to me that he is talking about astral projection in this book about immortality, which is highly interesting to me given my own experiences and theorizings. So stay tuned I suppose! j

but I know that for one I’d be interested to hear about it.I’m tempted to order it, but I’ve got a backlog of books
I’m working through–and I’ve got more on the way–Core
Transformation and Explorer Race are in the mail. Plus I
may order that Focusing book that Chris suggested . . .Best,
