Does anyone have a recommendation of trustworthy sources of information concerning human history and/or current news?
I am asking with the belief that practice is what leads to the real knowledge, but am trying to leverage the knowledge of those further than me as I make my way.
Steven Greer? Hathors via Tom Kenyon? Project Camelot? David Wilcock? FOX?!? 😉
Thanks for your thoughts,

When you say “am trying to leverage the knowledge of those further than me” are you specifically seeking those whose insights seem to be the fruit of their spiritual realization, as opposed to those who may do more or less conventional kinds of research and analysis?
elephantAugust 24, 2016 at 10:35 pm #47022AnonymousInactiveThanks for the question, elephant. I was unclear.
What I meant is that I want to leverage the knowledge of those members here, in particular the fruit of their spiritual realization in regards to knowing who can be trusted for history/news information (regardless of how that person got their information – whether through esoteric/intuitive means or more conventional means).

They were in the removal business. On youtube I saw part of a 10 hr documentary on Hitler (the true story) and others on 911, the banking system and so on. These people/issues/events are axial to our cultural beliefs system that dominates our minds. If you take the trouble to watch such things, they can serve to break down your confidence in the culture you were raised in and “open your mind”. However they cannot serve to show you reality.
There are many new age sources of “real knowledge”. And if you compare them you will see that they all say completely different things.
Which leads to certain conclusions.August 25, 2016 at 10:54 am #47026qtfaceParticipant1. Michael Winn
2. John Lamb Lash and his book “Not in his image” and his website metahistoryAugust 26, 2016 at 9:20 pm #47028elephantParticipantwhat is your opinion?
September 1, 2016 at 11:53 pm #47030elephantParticipantI’m generally very skeptical of any kind of channeled information. However, I recently undertook some experiments with the sound meditations that Tom Kenyon creates. My initial results were not particularly interesting, but the most recent release (A Steam from the Higher Worlds) is much more impressive. Not only did the description and commentary describe what I’m going through at the moment, the listening produced some wonderful results. I would even call it powerful.

Currently the things I trust most are my intuition (and I Ching), a moment of gnosis I experienced with a Psilocybin cubensis, the wisdom of the Chinese tonic herbs, and Michael Winn. The first three do not provide much info on my questions. The latter is most welcome to provide his thoughts.
I appreciate those who will inevitably tell me to just stick to the path and not worry with details. But I’ll appreciate a nice list of books more, haha! Essentially, I am indeed sticking to the path. But I want every help along the way. A rough but trustworthy sketch of humanity’s origins and a semblance of a clue about humanity’s current relationship with ourselves and ET’s would be great. My confidence in the path would be bolstered and speed my progress to a place where I no longer need these types of info.

September 6, 2016 at 2:48 am #47034AnonymousInactiveBut would you say there is no value in having a more “accurate” knowledge of history?
September 6, 2016 at 2:49 am #47036AnonymousInactiveSeptember 6, 2016 at 2:58 am #47038AnonymousInactiveSo far Tom Kenyon seems trustworthy to me… though I simply don’t know for sure.
Just today I listened to “A Stream from the Higher Worlds” and “Aetherium”. It was transformative. My state of consciousness was noticeably altered for the rest of the day. I feel much more like I did as a kid. More clarity, space, potential, and less layers of resistance. I was quite ungrounded afterwards.
September 6, 2016 at 10:07 am #47040rideforeverParticipantThe problem is will you simply waste your time?
You can choose 3 new age authors and if you compare 3 different things.
Why means people have zero idea what they talk about. Some useful things :
1. If you read the letters recovered from the Sumerian Empire 9000 years ago it tells you something.
2. If you look up the earliest musical instruments ( flutes made of the femur of large animals ) perhaps 50,000 years ago it tells you something.
3. If you watch a revision of Hitler or the Hollocaust or some critical social axial belief, it can shatter something in you.
4. If you are ready to work you can read / listen to Beelzebub’s Tales to His Grandson by G.I.Gurdjieff but it is not for wimps. The message and delivery of the book is simply this : if you don’t change you will never understand anything different, and the book is designed to tax you so that you do change. But most people give up after 2 pages.
In any case, if you waste your life doing things that don’t work you will die just as you are.

I want to become immortal – though, of course, I have really little clue what that means.
I want to know Truth, know myself, achieve a state of perfect unity and love for the good of myself and all that is.
I am trying to ease into the practice slowly, aiming at an hour or two of dedicated practice daily and casually practicing throughout the rest of the day. I don’t want to be extreme and go so hardcore that I burn out and leave.
I intend to slowly increase the amount of meditation until I am meditating as much as I much as possible.
Should I be in a hurry already?
