100/0 (waist above one leg)
70/30 (waist more towards one than other leg)
50/50 (waist in between)
30/70 (waist more towards other than one leg)
0/100 (waist above other leg)
old yang: body(torso) bent forward
new yang: body straight up
70/30 position in old yand style: weight fully on one leg (because of bent forward)
70/30 position in new yang style: 70% of weight on forward led (because all weight above waist)
of course if new yang 70/30 position is done in very high stance, then weight is also full on one leg
frank allen addresses front bent torso as ox plow
yang chen fu offers formidable example of waist work
NOTE: he is good for ching kung, training the lower dan tien.
Remember that his top son once ran away and his top non-son student tried to commit suicide.
Signs of weird chi kung. Are warned. The warning that kumar emphasizes of using sound is here proper.
(He did use them extensively as remains of chen style in his form)
see bellow photos
are also in yang family secret transmission by douglas wile
can be obtained in posterform ( http://www.tai-chi.com/wproduct.php?id=339 )
similar intent can be found in ba gua book that is part of frank allen recomendation

japanese fully utilize kwa work manifesting in front bent
(very obvious in later hatsumi works, very obvious after seeing many and later in retro realizing)July 12, 2006 at 3:16 pm #15380
it was yang cheng fu’grandfather, the originator of name, that was hard.
…so hard that one son tried to commit suicide. the son was then so hard that always went full blast on students. the son of that son backed off and went farming full time.
…so hard that other son tried to run away. that was yang chen fu’s father.
this put the act of changing the style form into a healing form first in a very new light.
