Are the shen you talk about someone’s assistant conciousnesses and if not, how can someone who follows the taoism you teach be sure that it is his/her main conciousness that becomes immortal and not the assistant conciousnesses?

You are using terms in a specific falun gong meaning that is not familiar to me. But I could hazard a guess that “assistant consciousness” is the sensory activity of the shen. They are not separate from the core immortal conscioiusness – there is no split here, assistants and main are a continuum, the assistants just have some bad habits that result in a diffusion of chi outward into the post natal realm.

The sequence of alchemy formulas is designed to re-integrate them functionally with the core consciousness. It is counter productive to suppress, judge or attempt to kill the assistants by demonizing them as bad “ego”.

What you call the “main” consciousness I am guessing is in my perspective already immortal, it is the original spirit and is simply not expressed or functional in the physical plane, it opereates as a distant observer.

There is a very remote danger of “assistant” consciousness becoming a “demon immortal” if it aligns itself with certain contracted forces that have great longeviity. But this is easily avoided by staying centered, cultivating innate or natural virtue in all the assistant/’shen and fusing them into a single focused functioning team.
