It seems to me that the description of a practice is often much more general than the actual experience of doing it and even encorporating it into every day life. I would love to have some conversations about anything related to these things and how it works for you personally.
Also, I have been wondering. What should it feel like to have the crown point activated or to hold energy there? (Is the point an inch below the skin or on the very top?) Also, what should it feel like for the energy to rise along the Du Channel? It seems like many different types of energy can be sent through the channels, it can feel different every time.
For example, I first experienced this energy as momentary “shivers/chills” going up my spine while on psilocybin mushrooms. It felt joyful and refreshing. But for years I had no idea exactly what it was. The energy rose very quickly and stopped around the back of my skull.
As I have practiced the microcosmic orbit and big draw, many times it seems to be the most efficient method, to just retrace this feeling instead of spending time going through each point as often described, which seems more choppy and forceful in comparison. The energy usually just wants to keep rising up past the points. I assume both methods are beneficial but I am curious what you guys might say in response. Making the energy rise quickly can feel a bit rushed, but it also kinda feels like the natural way that it flows.
Ever since my experiences with psychedelics, I have been able to shift the “pressure” to the top of my head. I assume this is blood following chi. Is this one of the goals of these practices, or is there a deeper experience to be cultivated? At times it does seem to be a little uncomfortable, I have been trying to create more of a feeling of bliss and openness instead of pressure, because it seems to be a bit of a dead end.
I have listed a good few points here, feel free to share on any of them. Looking forward to your responses!

It’s different for everyone as you’ve probably heard. For me I felt a cooling water tingling the inside of my brain. It actually felt like peppermint. The pressure is normal, it’s just chi or jing trying to push open channels that were previously closed. Sometimes it can cause mild headaches. I call them chi headaches haha. And for the different methods of the orbit, there really is no wrong way of doing it in my opinion. As long as you focusing on the points and/or the loop. The best way for me is the get your lower Dan dian really hot before circulating, nothing but solid focus on the navel for at least 10 minutes before focusing on the points. Then focus on each point for as long as you feel comfortable, while keeping your attention on your navel. After that I usually go through the loop 36 times. It seems to flow on its own that way I’ve discovered. Like I said with the headaches sometimes chi activating can be quite painful. I’ve felt sharp electrical shocks hit my sacrum before! And I do have to agree with you on the choppy feeling of going through each point. In Master chia’s first orbit book he teaches it that way. He tells you to focus on each point for 15 minutes. I’ve found it’s much easier to focus on the navel for the longest (as that’s where the energy for your orbit generates) Get your navel burning first. Then circulate. There’s different stages of the microcosmic orbit activating of course. When it’s fully activated and open to the highest level you should feel a hot burning sensation around the entire loop. I’ve read that it feels like somebody is holding a blow dryer up your spine and around your body. <!–more–> Hope this is helpful for you man. Good luck in your chi cultivation! 🙏🏻
