I’ll let Michael speak for himself, but
from my experience Michael has on occasion
done some of the eye-movement stuff in the
Healing Sounds before, but not nearly to the
extent or infatuation that Chia now does.

As to whether “it is good or not”, the
real question is whether or not is
“good for you”. I don’t think there is a
simple answer here. I think it depends on the
    person, the person’s personality/ego/emotional
    constitution/nature/etc.; it depends on what
feels right on an individual level; it also
depends I think on the type of emotional issue
that comes up, i.e. there may be times when
it feels right for a person to do it, while
it feels right for the same person to *not* do it
    on a different occasion.

Ultimately, I think you have to rely on your intuition
on this one, and nothing else. If you look
within, you’ll see whether it is right for you
    or not in any situation.

Personally, I tend not to do it too much myself,
but that’s not to say that I think to be a bad technique.

At any rate, have fun exploring,
    Steven

    Hello my friend:

IMHO, an interesting thing happened over time about alchemical cultivation. It seems past generations were very cautious about who were introduced to these practices, due to their understanding of the nature of these practices. Because someone teaches them to anybody, regardless of their condition, does not mean it is a safe or proper thing to do.

We can debate the pros and cons of making these practices available to anybody, and they can be taken in anyway they desire, but I would support they need to be presented on a individual basis based on the each person’s condition. Safety is always rule number one. A medical doctor has responsibilities and liability, it seems this is not part of the modern alchemical era.

I would suggest a practitioner is not the one to judge or measure whether boredom or impatience is too slow, its possible its exactly what is needed. A qualified teacher can make this assessment, and guide the process.

I do believe the assumptions, and in some cases delusions, do have an impact on one’s life; if a good teacher can set a good understanding of the cultivation it can save lots of time and possible difficulties.

Alchemy is inherently a method of accelerated change, of accelerated spiritual evolution, but contains within it safeguards for moving too quickly. While it has the possibility of causing imbalance in a person through unleashing some hidden or buried aspect of their personality, it also has the tools to balance that. I have found that if a person practices alchemy, the personality generally keeps the rate of change in check. I think the main dangers are not necessarily in alchemy (kan and li) but in other energetic methods not focused on crystallizing yuan qi, as they are not self-balancing.

To practice alchemy, one needs will, and when one is overwhelmed by issues that prevent one from practicing, or if one has practiced too much, the will to practice usually subsides for a while, or other personal issues prevent one from practicing.

I think the main danger in adding too much detail to time-tested alchemical meditations is that the intention of the practitioner may be diluted of sidetracked by paying attention to too much detail in the procedure rather than focusing on the energetic intention behind the practice.

This is a very large subject because all practices are not always part of an overall system. If they are part of a progressive system than usually the system contains methods of self-regulation. If we call Kan and Li the mainstay of One Clouds alchemical system, then I would say it is self-regulating because Kan and Li is inherently balancing no matter how much one practices it.

Dragon Love, I appreciate your enthusiasm.

The EMDR method is actually just a western therapeutic technique that in my opinion mimics the Taoist alchemical method (probably by accident).

It works because when you shift your attention from left core channel (and any organ/orbs focused there) and right core channel, moving back and forth, you begin mixing the deep eight extra vessel chi, which is polarized yin and yang in the body. THAT IS WHY IT WORKS. But EMDR folks know little if nothing about these deep channels. When you mix the two poles, it alchemically begins to neutralize the content of the two poles, i.e. the emotional traumas get dissolved.

I use it (as Steven mentioned) mostly with the inner smile, as I have been playing with that method for many years, but at a slower rate of shift than EMDR.

As for bagua’s concern with “changing” a method, I don’t feel there is any danger here. Westerners are TOTALLY DIFFERENT people than the ancient Chinese, so there is no way to replicate their experience in any case. Totally different energy bodies. So the methods HAVE to be adapted, that is the reality of CHANGE.

Don’t be afraid to explore on your own, that would be falling into a FEAR trap. Develop trust in your inner self, that is all that matters, not lineage, in my opinion. Otherwise we’d never have learned alchemy in the first place,if Chia hadn’t “broken” their lineage rules that taught Western barbarians.
    🙂
