Hello new to forum…can anyone give any feedback on the Tai Chi for Enlightenment. Is the Tai Chi Primordial Qigong that Sifu Donald Rubbo in Cal. the same as this system. Donald claimed to a friend of mine that his is different & purer? That he was a personal student of the master who taught this? Nowadays everyone is a Master, I personally smell jealousy & trying possibly tod divert a student.
Is there a workshop or a class any where offered? Sorry so many question on first post. I practice Tai Chi for the past 24 years looking for something new and exciting that delves away from the basic 5 familys. thanks snowlion glad to be a part of your group.
I don’t have Rubbo’s system, but Winn’s interpretation is excellent and presumably identical moves.
thanks for the feedback…it is excellent ..snowlion
Rubbo and I have the same teacher (I believe), Zhu Hui.
I modified one move, the final gathering move, under direct spiritual guidance. I ran it past Zhu Hui, who approved it, he liked it. It makes it a very meditative and powerful move down the core channel of the body, instead of a short martial flip of the wrists.
I changed another move, under spiritual guidance and based on my knowlege of internal alchemy, the gathering of the fifth direction. Zhu Hui taught it as ten spirals, I changed it to 9 spirals. When I later otld Zhu Hui about the internal direction I had received on it, he replied:
“The original form had 9 spirals in it. I changed it to 10 because it seemed easier to teach it to the chinese that way, with the same count as for the other four directions.”
The moral of the story: what you learn from a Chinese teacher is not infallible. Deep integration and trust in a practice, and what it communicates to you, is far more important.
