the moon is not only beautiful
it is so far away
the moon is not only ice cold
it is here to stay
when i lay me down
will you still be around
when they put me six feet underground
will the big bad beautiful you be around
(Cat Power, 2006, from the beautifully melancholy CD “The Greatest”)
I saw the full moon rising last night around 9 – and felt beautiful cool yin in my front channel.
By 11 I was in bed and…though tired, felt very alert! So was my wife. Couldn’t sleep! Then remembered, ah, full moon, restless, this has happened before.
I couldn’t quite figure out the energetic mix that was happening then, and still now near noon on Tuesday. Perhaps it is because this is the beginning of Chinese winter, yet the moon is yang – sort of a flip in roles of Sun and Moon? Yes, it is sort of an unsettled feeling inside, and cool under the skin…
Anyone else notice anything with this moon?

The overlaying energy interactions that are taking place now make it impossible to pinpoint any one occurance as causing what we are feeling. But you are right, this has been an unusually powerful phase.
The energy field of the planet is hopping wildly, along with the rest of the solar system, and today is the cross quarter point, the mid-way point, between the fall equinox and the winter solstice, making it a high energy station point similar to and aligned with, though not as powerful as, the equinoxes and solstices.
We are now fully into a period where the smaller occurances like full moons, etc., are overshadowed and enhanced by what the planet itself is radiating in the form of consciousness overhauling due to the Sun’s incessant “new paradigm” activity, and by the galactic energetics that are helping this along. As our consciousness changes and gets more holistic, we experience the fact that all dimensions are interpenetrating.
Here in the US we are having elections which will impact things very powerfully and that adds to the mix. I think we are reaching a turning point, long awaited.
So it’s a biiiiig picture!

I was out in the forest, below some cliffs, just after sunset, looking through the trees, over the city, to the Great Lake Ontario beyond, sitting on a big tree root, settling into sun-moon-earth inside me.
Hmmm? I just couldn’t resonate with the Earth — where was the green vibrance, the mellow glow? Then I realized the phase of the year and moon (and even the time of day) — the Earth was very yin, peaceful, contained. And, the moon and sun were very yin too, both below the horizon. I settled in with those, very deep, very fast, great yin, peace.
Such a total contrast to the crazy energies of five days ago!
