    Hi Bagua,

    Can you answer my question in the general section please? And what is your opinion on Master Nan Huai Chin before I buy any of his books. Thank you.

    The only knowledge needed about Hun and Po is that we must combine them with yuan shen as Daoists try to do and the fact that they are yin-yang. Of course, knowing more about them would be of even greater benefit because we would then be able to create better methods to combine them. We already have ways to combine them, though.

    We know that they are not combined because they came from Heaven and Earth and we know they leave after death back into Heaven and Earth. Is that enough detail for ya Bagua?

    It would be good to know more.

    Names of 7 po, what are they?

    names of 3-hun and their names?

    I dont think this info is in common tao literature and people just pass the info on.

    I only know of that chan teacher, I have not opinion on him.

    I suggested the korean zen master, he has a few books. Korean is more relaxed than some of the more rigid japanese.

    Chan/Zen is like anything else, a good teacher is so beneficial to have, like kung fu, tai ji, alchemy, its hard to get the proper structure withouht someone checking.

    Hi Bagua,

    Thank you for your recommendation. I will buy Master Nan’s book. Also, how is Japanese Zen more rigid then Korean Zen? And what about Chinese Chan? I would love to hear a comparison between them if you don’t mind.

    As for Hun and Po, I think it would be good to know more, but maybe through working with them in cultivation one can learn more about them? Anyways, when I go to China, I might condsider inquiring more information on them. Maybe I will learn there. If so, I will definately post it here.

    My experience Japanese Zen is very strict, no nosies in meditation, no burping or farting like many ht people do like a badge of honor. The korean I have been exposed to allows people to move around if need to, its more relaxed in that way, the teaching is the same, the awareness is the same.

    From my research there are not literally 3 hun souls and 7 po souls, nobody is saying what they are, where they came from, why 3, why 7, etc. Look forward to any insights you might get.

    If there are 3 and 7, how do they realate to five shen?

    Bagua,

    If no one knows much about them, then who made the distinction of their being 3 and 7, and them being Heaven and Earth souls.

    I remember I was once talking to a friend who said that a psychic woman said that we have 3 guardian angels. One is above the head and the other two are above the shoulders. Sound familiar? Heaven is above. Earth is below. But if this is true, then why do Chinese texts say that they reside in the liver.

    This can also be seen through Kirlian Photography that shows these subtle objects above the shoulders and head. It just might be. But then what about Po? It’s all pretty interesting.

    Btw, I don’t relate them to 5 shen because I don’t believe in 5 shen. To me, yuan shen is creator Dao, but microcosmically. Hun is yang/heaven, Po is yin/Earth, and heart shen/Personality is yuan/Man/Ego-Self. This is how I relate the macrocosmos to microcosmos, not 5 shen.

    I said I will “consider” it, depending on the circumstances like you mentioned. I might look into some Chinese texts. Or maybe on Wudang, I might get a visit from an immortal who might give me some “answers”. If I do, I will be sure to mention it here.

    Ching-chi-shen is a dialectics.
    It is a battery keeping the charge.

    Because it is a manifest tension, wu is omitted because of omnipresence.

    It is a intepretation that life is dialectic mystery. That from wu sprang ching-chi-shen polarities simultaneously.

    All magic is based on principles. Math is highest magic. The magical numbers as the way of creation.
    Cadaver studies are weird magic to introduce into life study.

    There is also an interpretation that matter is a stepped down spirit. That wu created spirit that created chi that created ching.
    That is different magic of alchemy.

    Alligning.
    Alliances are important for there is the issue of free will. Stepped down offer a way up and away while other offers not escape clause. Offering the obvious choice means no choice (resistance is futile) while offering no choice leaves free will.
