Any insights to this practice?
I noticed the Senior Healing Tao instructor Jampa Mackenzie Stewart wrote a book entitled “THE LIFE OF GAMPOPA” …anyone seen it?
Or anything about “Ambrosia” or the “highest yoga tantra”?
A big topic.
Reading that book would be a good start. Also ‘The Lion’s Roar’ by Chogyam Trungpa is good–it goes into the yanas that come before Vajrayana too, which he considered important.
I have read the Gampopa book–very interesting.
I particularly like the part where Milarepa leans over and whispers in Gampopa’s ear, saying “There IS a Supreme Being!”

Could you tell me any more about these books? I am not convinced that I should go into all these buddhist stuff when I still have a lot to learn about the healing/universal dao approach.
Respectfully, if you’re not sure maybe you shouldn’t right now. Focusing on one thing until you get it is more important than taking on too much too quickly.
One the other hand, at a point when you feel you have really digested and accomplished something in daoism, and if you are really interested, you could always go ahead and read the books.
I have often summarised my views on buddhism on this list, which views are heavily dosed with my study and practice of vajrayana lore, if you care to have a look at them.
