I’ve stayed mostly out of these conversations (except for humor) because, from my view (not necesarily anything, other than “mine”), the basic intent of primary conversationalists felt.. divisionalist. And that, it seems to me, needs to be reconciled before actually productive outward conversation is likely to take place.
may all beings
be free from suffering, and
be free of the causes of suffering.
may all beings
have happiness, and
have the causes of happiness.love.

March 10, 2005 at 12:30 am #3075MaxParticipant…suppose you’re on the road between LA and NYC. Looking in one direction is LA; looking in the other direction is NYC. If you want to go to LA, you should turn in the direction of LA. Once you have turned in the direction of NYC, LA is lost. Lost, but it is still there for you, if you knew how to turn around. Doing meritorious deeds, proper spiritual cultivation and discipline in your practices are the road signs that will help you on your path. They will help you realize that every point of the road contains LA. And any point of the road contains NYC.
Enlightenment and Ignorance are exactly the same. They contain each other.

Then the Goat led me up all the way to the top. I did actually think about, “hey dude you are on the other side of the world, don’t you want to go home too”, but you know how that goes…
I managed to snap a buch of slides up there. Probably seldom seen by humans – the west and south of Huashan. You can see the South Peaks in there to the right. The West peak is directly ahead, where we climbed up there to the West peak strait across the Day before. The rest in this series are cool especially looking away from Huashan.
Oh ya know i did all that scrabling around in sandles. I did not take a pair of shoes on the trip beause after 2 sleeping bags and thermarest in my suitcase i did not have any room!!! Next time climbing shoes!
Anyone coming to the slideshow Sat. nite is in for a treat.

and may they dwell in the great equanimity that is free from passion, aggression and prejudice.🙂
