Hello all,
I’m trying to get a better understanding of the concept of “worldly destiny” as it appears in the HT context. I suppose I am entertaining the possibility that what I have previously interpreted as health problems or spiritual problems are also, or partly, worldly destiny problems. Some questions:
1) what is the meaning of worldly destiny in the HT context?
2) how do the HT practices help to unfold the worldly destiny, and what is the manner of that unfolding?
3) what is the relationship between the worldly destiny and its development, and the spiritual path?
Any thoughts or experiences much appreciated.

I managed to download a PDF from Academia.

So just some thoughts to play with, and things to put into your practice . . .
Question for you to ask yourself:
Do you feel you are living your life in alignment with your purpose here?If not, and you are unhappy, it can be the case that health problems or emotional problems can be merely symptoms of this misalignment.
Is this something you are becoming aware of?
That you wish your life in the physical world to look different than it is?
Or that you are not devoting yourself to your main passion in life? These are just some questions of self-inquiry.
Here’s the good news: if you are not in alignment with your main passion or purpose here, you can always change. 🙂 How wonderful it can be to finally harmonize with who you are and what you want!
Much of qigong and alchemy (in my view) is about developing the courage to make the changes that you know you want to make or need to make, but don’t (because the familiar is easier). Some (not saying you) can be miserable for so long that the misery itself almost becomes part of the person’s identity, so it can be difficult to imagine a life that is different.
Qigong/alchemy helps break these thoughtforms and helps to reconnect you to who you actually are, and helps you to develop the courage to make changes that will allow you to align more with that.
In my experience, spiritual destiny and worldly destiny are linked. If you cultivate one enough, eventually it creates pressure on the other, and reveals an incompleteness in its development.
Best wishes in your continued evolution . . .
Qi,
StevenP.S. Practice-wise, in my experience, Primordial Qigong tends to be one of the most potent qigong tools for awakening these kind of issues.
