I’m glad to see that someone has offered a contrasting view to the normal one taken on the substances mentioned so we don’t fall into the usual pattern. But I have something to add.
While I agree completely about the warmth factor for the stomach as a cooking pot, with regard to the cold water vs a coke idea, it is equally important to…[Read more]

I love it. It’s such a purely Daoist answer. A non-answer answer.

“As with all Daoist practices, a lot depends on where the individual practitioner is coming from…”

Alexander Alexis replied to the topic What to practice to heal a broken finger ? in the forum Practice 18 years ago
The moment you started thinking about what to do you interrupted the healing process.
If you question “How,” you go into doubt.
Trick question: What raises your positive energy most?
Answer: Your heart.
So smile and forget about it and the next time you think of it it will be healed.

“…we have the obligation to care otherwise our cultivation is meaningless”
Without care there is no real cultivation. The point is that when i reaction there also is no cultivation.
“and yes holding space and generating love and compassion is a way to deal with it…”
No it’s not a way to deal with it. It’s a way to change it.

Two things I have been seeing really clearly and learning about lately is the concept of embracing what is going on and the idea that we are now being pressed to trust ourselves at a deeper level than ever before.
Embracing what is going on without fear or resistance and radiating from that space of love sends energy that can transmute.…[Read more]

Hi Wendy,
I can feel the irritation you have about what is going on. I sometimes am blown away by how preposterous is the behavior of those in rule now. It would be funny if it weren’t so tragic. Those beings are the embodiment of our worst denial. It looks to me though that they already are the manifestation of our karma. They represent…[Read more]

I have looked at this situation over and over again through time and come to much the same conclusions as you do. We have to let the lifeforce handle the process because it’s wiser than us.
But! Equally important is that WE are here to be the embodiment of the dao, agents of the lifeforce. As we grow and develop our relationship with life…[Read more]

Funny you should bring this up.
I emailed a friend on the Big Island to find out how she was doing and what it was like for her.
Aside from the objective stuff which is already known -very very violent shaking, etc- she described the experience as, “Not more clearing, more aloha!”She felt completely positive about it, though a…[Read more]

“how the **** are you going to smile to an animal and KILL it simultaneously?”
Apparently you cannot imagine this possibility. It is possible, and, in fact, has always been the underlying attitude for most aboriginal and ancient cultures. Killing a hunted animal was done with resect and appreciation by aboriginal Americans and this is…[Read more]

Wow! What a point!
But what do YOU do with that then? Are you stuck with believing that it was meant to be and should be or do you want something better, at least for yourself?

“I do also beleive it is possible to transform even a negative vibration if one has the tools to do so.”
I agree with this but think it is simpler than most people believe and that it happens all the time. I believe that we always choose a vibration when we eat and imbue it into the animal or whatever we are consuming with our thoughts and…[Read more]

Yes, this has been a complicated place to interact! Ha! But rewarding.

Sly- I agree with W that the focus should be on grounding- always. You have to have a concentration of presence in the earth realm for anything you do to be safe and effective.

The lifeforce will tend to go where it is needed for balance. This will be mitigated or moderated by your own beliefs and directions.
Bringing the chi down into the ldt concentrates it in the place from which it feeds your whole body. The ldt is the resting place, a reservoir, for the lifeforce. This does not close it off from the rest of…[Read more]

William, my thinking is going in the same general direction as Michael and uroburro. I would suggest that you focus on what, in daoism, is the core of all practices – balance. Look for it, meditate on it, ask for it. If you are drawn to herbs (and even if you weren’t!) I strongly recommend that you do this:
1- Find a good acupuncturist with…[Read more]
