Hi Bagua,
Looks like an interesting discussion.
First of all, JKD training does not utilize wooden dummy’s. He did keep chi sao and another form, I think it was lop sao (2 forms like WudangAlienAlchemist said). He added weight lifting, punching with dumbells, jogging, shadow-kick boxing, and much more. He had principles of economy of motion…[Read more]

Hi:
I just love the way Bruce Lee incorporates Dao and Zen.
He didn’t look towards the underlying structure of physical movements, which were energetic (qi) movements. Internal martial arts do. So he may have found the pinnacle of martial arts for people who are limited to using no internal energy.

Hi Nnonnth,
Zen is something that takes alot of practice and lots of discipline until you get it, especially by yourself. Here’s a good forum that can help you alot.

Bagua recommends Master Seung Sahn and Max recommends Master Nan Huai Chin. I haven’t read Seung Sahn’s works yet but Nan Huai Chin is pretty…[Read more]

WudangAlienAlchemist,
Can you give me some more info on what you want to come for? I mean is it for long term study, or just to learn something specific, etc. I would like if you can say some more and perhaps when you will plan on coming, then we can talk.

Michael,
Zen is a process too. It’s a constant process of becoming the “true you”. It is very difficult to have an understanding of it when you haven’t practiced it yet. Try it.

Hi Michael,
Firstly, I do not confuse prenatal and primordial as the same thing. I don’t know where you draw your conclusions from.
Next, being consistent does not mean that you are letting go of your free will.
You tend to look at Wu Ji as something far away, an unreachable goal. It is right here, right now. Practice stillness meditation…[Read more]

Hi Michael,
Actually, I’m not teaching there, but will teach. Last time when I went, I mastered Sanfeng Taijiquan, just one style so no, not many forms. Of course, I do know many different forms but that’s from shaolin and Tibetan martial arts. I’m flattered for the compliments though, Michael!
As you know, it takes a long time to be…[Read more]

>>Illusion usually refers to people’s own wants and desires to have things the way they want, not the way things are.<<
Hmm… rather different from Fajin's definition!
*When we grasp the hologram, we stop seeing the void. It's only an illusion for those who can't find the stillness within the movement.

Hi Bagua,
When you said:

Nnonnth,
The Root of Chinese Qigong by Dr. Jwing, Ming Yang introduced me to Chinese Qigong of all branches. It shows the history of Da Mo (Bodhidarma) and alot about the development it has undergone in China, both Buddhism and Daoism.
Hope that helps,

Hi Nnonnth,
I notice you mention the illusionary world that Buddhists refer to and perhaps you have misconceptions about it. My view is that the universe is a hologram with light and sound frequencies projecting the picture.
The void, or as quantum science calls it zero point, or empty space matter is the only thing that is permanent, ie.…[Read more]

Hi Dog,
i can’t give you an online lesson on Zen, but if you find a teacher and read good books on it, I’m sure you’ll find the answer.
Good luck,

Hi Nnonnth,
I will help you and others to understand. But this is something that must be practiced to be understood. This is beyond intellect.

Hi Nnonnth,
There is no such thing as an effective segment of a totality. If we were to say one was more important than the other, they would no longer be one. Therefore, there is oneness.

Finding stillness within movement is right. That is the balance point. You don’t want to be further divorced from your root!

Hi Nnonnth,
I don’t think what I said was dualistic. Movement is yin-yang. Stillness is between them just as it is between inhalation and exhalation. Here’s what I meant.
Dao works with movement until the Daoist gets stillness. Zen only works with stillness because that is the final goal.
Btw,glad you came back to the forum, your posts…[Read more]
