Primordial is most powerful in the morning; Big Dipper is most powerful at sunset
In your experience, is there a most powerful time to do Deep Healing Qigong?

Fascinating!
My other half remarked that, in the black and white photos, the flash of light looks like a solar eclipse. And that, like a solar eclipse, the meeting of the egg and sperm is the meeting of sun and moon.

I think that there’s also a focus on the abdomen/hara/dan tien in Vajrayana (Tantric) Buddhism (e.g. Tummo practice). Don’t know about Hindu Tantra.
The abdomen is sometimes referred to as the second brain. In another essay, Does Your Brain have an Enlightened Twin”, Barclay Powers writes
It is not that the enteric nervous system is a 500…

Thanks for the clarification, Steven. Very helpful.
My (very limited) understanding is that in certain traditional societies, shaman took psychedelics on numerous occasions (as this was part of their “job”, so to speak). If this understanding is correct, is it known whether shaman generally lived shorter lives, or did they have the ability to…[Read more]

Just wondering if there’s a similar gentle rocking during the Fusing of the Five Vapours? Or does the weight remain on the heels?

Michael says that taking LSD and other drugs burns up a lot of Jing.
In a post in a recent – and very interesting – thread on drugs, Steven says that
ANY chemical that alters biochemistry, be that caffeine, nicotine, LSD, ayahuasca, ibuprofen, whatever, needs to be detoxified by the body–typically the liver–and exhausts qi to do so. Also,…

Sometimes I think Master Chia writes too many books
From what you write elsewhere in your post, I think you mean that MC commissions too many books / has too many books ghost-written!!!
usually in courses below Greater K&L–except for maybe Master Chia–as teachers, we usually avoid bringing up the term [cosmic qi], to avoid having students get…

Hi Steven
Thanks for your second attempt to bring clarity. I’m getting much clearer!
Terminology and misreading
You askWhat does “inner heart qi” mean?
This is the key to my misreading. You write (my bold)
With more detail, you are drawing in cosmic qi into the third eye as the ignition on a car, but upon entry into your body, it…

From the same website comes this article, What is Tantra?: Setting the record straight. Very interesting.
This para might be of interest to Taoists.
So Tantra is a spiritual movement that influenced the development of most Asian religions. But what is the essence of Tantra, you might ask? How do I know it when I see it? Scholars have debated…

Many thanks for your detailed reply. However, perhaps due to my lack of knowledge of alchemy, I’m struggling to keep up!
With more detail, you are drawing in cosmic qi into the third eye as the ignition on a car, but upon entry into your body, it immediately meets and blends with the energy from your inner heart. This gives the qi its…

As far as “focus”, that part seems relatively clear: it should be dropping into the center of the earth on the weighted side
This is indeed the main focus. However, when one is seeking to refine technique, one also has to focus on other issues – such as whether most of the weight is on K1 or the heels! I was simply suggesting in my previous post…[Read more]

I found this article by Christopher Wallis fascinating.
In the comments beneath the article, mention is made of a reply to the article by Anodea Judith. Wallis, in turn, responds to Judith.
However, interestingly, as an example of innovation, Judith says: no modern or ancient text has suggested that we use the downward route through the…
