I always viewed the MCO as running energy up the SPINAL CORD (rather than disks/vertabra). I viewed the big draw as doing essentially the same thing.
Not sure where I got that idea. I’m not dogmatic about it. I mean, I view it as an energetic pathway, without exact correspondance to physical anatomy.
But you seem to be implying that…[Read more]

I pretty much ascribe to Michael Winn’s view of what “immortality” means (see his post below).
Regarding healing stories, I think ALL spiritual traditions have verifiable stories of miraculous cures. And I think you can also find in the medical literature people who have had spontaneous remissions of cancer, etc. who were NOT spiritual at…[Read more]

Hey Harry,
I just reread all of these posts and realized no one was all that positive about taoism and health. Heres my view.
Taoist systems of diet, exercise, and meditative practices and general right living are all designed to keep you physically healthy to a ripe old age. And I think, within reason, they do. But of course th…[Read more]

Your point on what it means to be immortal by taoist standards is well taken, but I dont think it addresses the question.
I dont think his assumption was that chi kung removes you from the world at all. I think his assumption and yours is that taoist practices put one in tune with the forces of nature both within and outside our bodie…[Read more]

Just keep focusing on the dan tien (a few inches below your navel). Eventually the energy will go there. It is that simple.

Hey there,
I for one, will miss you (a lot). I’ve always enjoyed your posts and — despite all your self admitted ignorance — they’ve taught me things.
This most recent post of yours is no exception. I read it and I very much recognized that guy. He very disconcertingly resembled the guy I see in the mirror each morning. And you’ve got…[Read more]

Here’s my two cents worth:
First, Chia, in person at least, has always been a pretty humble guy. Yeah, people call him Master but he readily admits that he’s just seeking and trying to live up to what he was taught (and has said so much in each workshop I’ve taken with him). In my personal experience this is in marked contrast to Michael W…[Read more]

Bodri’s big thing is that, since we’re all human, all spiritual practices will bring you through the same physical and energetic stages of development. It’s just that different religions/traditions call these stages by different names and have different interpretation as to what’s going on.
His practice, and EXTREME bias, leans towards zen…[Read more]

Hit them with Matthew 7, verses 1-5. That ought to shut them up.
If that doesn’t work read for yourself Matthew 7, verse 6.

Your gonna be a healer? What happened to becoming a tantra sex master? Has Mrs. Yoda signed on to this change in goals? Just asking.
Also, is the $8 meditation any different from the one he sent out in his newsletter?
Thanks.

From an energetic standpoint, it is primary that you are turned on during sex. So my view — which I would argue is in line with traditional daoist thought — is you should work with whatever turns you on.
Daoist sex (love that phrase) is, among other things, about circulating and utilizing sexual energy once you’re turned on. There’s…[Read more]
