Bagua on Laotzu: The key is not to make distinctions, can you live from this view?
I am curious as to what verses you base this view on. The core cosmology presented in laotzu is one of a trinity – that is making a clear distinction between the One, the Two, and the Three. (ch. 42).
Yin and Yang are clearly made distinct, at the same time…[Read more]

do a search on Binary soul on this forum and you will get an earful of my ideas. also check out Peter Levine’s work on Afterlife and multiple souls. I agree with his work, but think the Taoists have the most practical handle on it.

I taught yoga for years, and yes it develops greater flexiility than qigong. But too much flexibility leads to weakness in structure. I switched to qigong for greater power, rooting, and energetic sophistication. But I got a huge amount out of doing the yoga, it helped open me up and clean out. Some people do both, that is individual choice. A lot…[Read more]

I agree with Dog-God (obviously). Bagua’s attitude is good for cultivating unconditional acceptance, by seeing that our original nature ulitmately trumps all others levels of its expression/experimentation via the soul, mind, body, etc. Everything ultimately is co-evolving with our original nature.
But the question is, how does saying that or…[Read more]

I can see now more clearly where you are coming from, Bagua.
This is not really a discussion about self-realization. You cannot answer the question what self means to you, it is irreelevant to your fundamental position. It is about our focusing attention on what the Taoists call wuming, the Nameless.
The TaoTe Ching mentions wu ming, but…[Read more]

There is no development or deepening in conscious-presence. That already is, and you already are that. Knowing yourself is not a path of becoming. It is a matter of being. Becoming implies time, a goal and someone to reach it, all of which are purely conceptual. You do not become what you are. You are what you are. This is simpler than we…[Read more]

It won’t embarass me if you post more than me. I am happy to offer the outlet for self-expression.
Anyway, to Taoists, number qualtiy is important, not number quantity.michael

NN: Now I don’t at all denigrate anyone who thinks differently – but perhaps I should say, anyone who *thinks* they think differently. After all, which of the many spiritual ways appears to believe most strongly in the dissolution of the ego? Buddhism!
But which tradition’s highest practitioners are those who return again and again to…[Read more] -

Finally catching up after my travels and teaching wuji gong this weekend. It seems that qigong practice followed by meditation produces deeper results that intellectual discussion, but we also seem to need both to keep our “life” and “essence” in harmony.
1. That is the first clarification, on Cleary’s translation.
Life = Ming, aka destiny…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic A question about present moment awareness in Taoist inner alchemical practice in the forum General 17 years, 7 months ago
sky,
Welcome to our Cyber Earth.Nice question. I like ‘Bagua’s answer. The Taoists do have so many methods that it is possible to over effort. So you could almost pick any foundational practice and continue awareness of it throughout the day.
But the Inner Smile is the really the first practice taught, and remains the foundational practice…[Read more]

thanks for the summary, always interesting to read of the many streams of evolving humans.
I had a client once who was “occupied” by the soul of a (rather famous) dying guru – not even her own guru. He jumped into her a few minutes before he died, sending her into kkundalini convulsions. All the devoted chelas (followers) were insanely…[Read more]

Interesting. I had a friend who was conducting experiments with Puharich. He told me Puharich had to disappear at one point, and faked his own death so the CIA would stop bothering him. His involvement in the teslar watch makes it more interesting….Anyone else have info on this watch, its effects, or other scalar technology?

this topic of reversal is of course key to inner alchemy, it is the fundamental operative principle in the kan and li practices. Butlike most scholars, they haven’t a clue to those practices, even though there are probably hundreds of alchemical…[Read more]

I think Stalker is on to a very important subject, and I’ve personally been interested in scalar waves for a long time. Because alchemical practices work on a similar basis: by resonance, using waves of chi that are not physically measureable as EM, consciouness is transferred and potentially transformed (if the “information” is truly received)…[Read more]

I thnk you are probing into an area is cutting edge for spiritual science, i.e. the interface between religion and magic. I think this has different fronts, some dealing with community/social value issues, others dealing with impact of method on spiritual experience. These may boil down to issues of Will/Intention behind magic, religion, and…[Read more] - Load More
