Hagar,
I’ve been thinking of you while reading this amazing book:
Baker, Ian. 2004 (November). The Heart Of The World: A Journey To The Last Secret Place.
It combines Tibetan Buddhist practice, earth-energy, and world-class exploration into a great story. The guy, who writes very well, is searching for ne, special sites with energies that…[Read more]

Mike,
Beauty of a pic. Great vibe coming from…is that Craig?
Sweet surrender.
Great to have you, Marty and Jen on the board. Hopefully you’ll all stick around after the drama recedes.

Plato,
It is really so sad to see you like this. No sarcasm (well, a little bit in my title – but I’m not comparing you to a swine, I just like the bit about pearls going unrecognized), no guile, no anger, just sad.
I remember my first post to the HT board around 7 years ago. I was so excited that my idols on the board – Eric Yudelove and…[Read more]

Plato,
Her post is relevant in regard to three aspects of your previous posts.
First, you had stated that everyone experienced fox spirits in those caves. I was surprised at that, and so asked Craig to comment on it. She and others have replied that they did not experience fox spirits there. They have added that since they have experienced…[Read more]

I agree that you can do both, and the main character thought you could do both too. But, remember that the French woman got angry at him for doing both approaches. And, at the end he helps get the French woman back working together with the Americans. Again, the alternation between together and apart, together and apart.
The nihilism part of…[Read more]

Craig,
I’d recommened two books, one logical and the other poetic.
1) Miller, James. 2003. Daoism: a short introduction. 192 pages. He is a professor of religion and a former student of Livia Kohn’s. Excellent overview written very simply and sympathetically.
2) Tao te Ching. If your friend is into poetry, I’d recommend the 1993…[Read more]

Contact Karin at the healingdao contact email. She may know of places that people have used before.
Also, I don’t recommend hanging out there for too long because our vessel can become full quite quickly! Then, all the new stuff just spills off the top, or displaces other things that we learned. I’d recommend going for a week or two, and then…[Read more]

Magda,
That is an interesting question.
Chia’s instructions begin the inner smile and healing sounds with the lungs, but begin fusion with opening the heart.
I tend to start with the organ that I feel/think of first. That is probably the organ/phase/intelligence that is either the most vibrant or the most stressed. If I started somewhere…[Read more]

Life isn’t suffering…except for humans. The Shaolin guy I trained with would belittle us for grunting or complaining about our little aches. “Look at nature”, he’d say, “do the animals or plants complain when they are hungry or hurt? No, they do what they do. They follow the way. Humans follow distortions.”
I value the opinions of Michael and…[Read more]
