5 Days in a Hurricane Cave: Asheville’s Water Dragon

Essay on Water Dragons, climate change, benefits of cave life (ancient & modern Taoists), how elemental beings shape our life.

I used hurricane Helene’s super-natural force to crack open the mystery of the deeply  hidden  human ability to focus wuji’s Original Will in the physical plane.

After the essay are revised work shop dates, replacing Fall events cancelled due to Helene.

Undoubtedly you saw media images of Hurricane Helene’s devastation after dumping 30 inches of water in 2 days on my home town – Asheville N.C.

For comparison, in 2006 Katrina only rained 8-10 inches – one third as much.

I arrived home from a fabulous 3-week China Dream Trip, just two days before Helene unleashed her Water Dragon powers.

I was totally un-concerned by its approach, as hurricanes NEVER strike Asheville with full force.

Asheville is a 5-hour drive from the Atlantic Ocean. It is shielded from Gulf storms by the highest mountains on the East Coast. 7,000 ft. Mt. Mitchell is only an hour away.

Water Dragons vs. Geo-Engineers

Weather scientists have no credible explanation for how or why Helene managed to jump hundreds of miles over those steep mountain walls. It has NEVER happened before.

My Inner Sage explained it to me. It seems plausible to me, but I accept the reality of dragons. I added some clarifying details:

“NOAA – the National Ocean & Atmospheric Administration – tried to geo-engineer hurricane Helene. They wanted to drive it back into the Gulf of Mexico. 

“They dropped barium crystals from air planes and used secret EMF military technologies. They hoped Helene would not damage the coastal towns.

“But we are in a Wood Dragon year. Wood is prone to volatile and angry fits if its natural flow is blocked. In humans this shows up as anger and an inflamed liver. 

“When Water Dragon Helene got angry at being geo-engineered, it scanned and found the source of the geo-engineering was coming from NOAA headquarters in Asheville, NC. 

“Helene angrily went around the geo-engineering and used Her incredible wind force to climb over the mountains and dump it watery load onto Asheville as a warning sign.”

It was a “Don’t Mess with Water Dragon” message. This is an esoteric explanation that many minds, trained by material science, cannot accept.

Fine. I’ve learned not to waste Qi in the futile Battle of Beliefs. But if you have a better explanation, I’m totally open – please send it to me!

How Elementals Shape Our Lives

It was my 22ne trip to China. I measure a trip’s spiritual impact on me by the response of the elementals in my home. The elementals are what enliven everything in Nature, including its so-called “inanimate objects”.

All of Nature is conscious, because our cosmos is a vast, organic Being. That why it’s inevitable that the old 20^th century model of Quantum Mechanics will be discarded, and replaced by Quantum Organics.

Elementals connect everything in Matter/Body to the natural field of intangible Spirit/Awareness.

In short, they ground Heaven into Earth. Humans must learn to embrace both fields. As their child, Humanity walks on the “razor’s edge” between them.

There are 5 types of Elementals – Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood. The Chinese model has different names than the Western model, but they are the same in principle.

These five elemental forces are the fundamental matrix of a broad array of Chinese beliefs and Qi sciences.

These include medicine, philosophy, astrology, feng shui, city planning, and all Taoist Qi practices. Their common goal is to balance and harmonize the 5-phase functions of Nature’s elementals.

Elementals control the health of your living space. They welcome you when you arrive home, as they recognize your vibration. It’s the elemental in your favorite armchair that embraces you with a special feeling of warmth and love.

It’s the same with putting on old items of clothing. We feel their familiar elemental vibration, and it nurtures and affirms our identity.

Home Elementals Reveal Personal Changes

I can tell if a trip to China or a retreat taught abroad was transformative. If I have radically changed myself, the elementals in my home do NOT recognize me! It’s very odd, but true.

It means my body’s elementals have undergone a major transformation, and re-structured me into a new identity. I’m living at a higher vibration that the field of my “old Self”, so my home doesn’t recognize me.

I woke up the first night back from China, at 2 am. I was thirsty, got up for a drink of water. But I felt confused…. I could not find my way to the bathroom.

I was fully awake, but was sleep-walking, wandering through my home. It looked like a giant palace, completely un-recognizable, like I had never seen it before.

I wondered, ‘Where is the rest of my group (from China)?”. I was totally dis-oriented. But at the same time, it felt magical and marvelous to be in such a fresh, new palace.

It took me about 20 minutes to finally realize, with a great shock, that I was in my own home. I was seeing my home as if it were naked, not shaped by my new identity, as my old elemental patterns had dissolved.

My Dance with Water Dragon Helene

This identity shift set the stage for an even more radical impact by Hurricane Helene. It began to rain, a ferocious driving rain, that went on non-stop, full-force night and day, for 60 hours.

I have a copper roof, which I added to balance out the missing metal element in my log home’s feng shui. The metal roof amplifies the sound of rain.

The downpour was a continuous thundering, It was like horns (howling winds) and drums (beating rain) in Nature’s Orchestra had gone wild.

They were drunk with their own power, could not stop. They had blown out the filters that normally step Nature’s music down for human sensory consumption.

I lay on the leather and down feather pillows of the couch in my living room. I was hypnotized by the sound. I felt I was drowning in water, even though I was completely dry.

The couch is my “magical flying couch”. Instead of a magic carpet, for decades I’ve taken journeys on my Flying Couch into other realms.

The elementals are so powerful that even students who sit on it during my workshops and retreats claim to be transported into amazing spaces.

My journey was led by Water Dragon Helene as the Orchestra Conductor. I had no choice but to surrender to Her ability to mobilize such a powerful army of water elementals.

Surrendering to Dragon Helene was a kind of death. It was my willingness to drown-by-drinking-too-much of Her Water into my personal Energy Body.

Our body, like the planet, is normally about 75% water. Now I felt I was up to 95%. What we call “black outer space” is actually the “watery inner space” of our solar system and cosmos.

A Spiritual Break-Through

As the storm progressed, I found myself transported into Higher Water, floating in a watery cosmic space. It was an amazing journey, and it triggered a major spiritual break-through.

I have been hacking into the Taoist hermit One Cloud’s final formula for over a year. It’s about the union of Human with wuji, the Supreme Unknowable Mystery. It’s a total paradox. How can we know what by definition cannot be known?

But the proverbial Great Deluge of this Water Dragon gave me the extra Qi needed to penetrate deeper into the dark ocean of inner space. It gave me a push into the Goddess-head, into Her dark cosmic womb.

It was analogous to what drives men (using their sperm as proxies) to sexually penetrate into the womb of their female sex lover. Their lover’s womb is a proxy for crawling back into their biological mother’s womb, as a mythic-symbolic-energetic portal back to Source.

My Inner Sage warned me the wuji-womb had an impassable cervix. He told me that beyond this impenetrable portal was the realm of the Mother of the Multi-verse (MoM).

I knew this new, meta-cosmic level of Motherhood was just a metaphor so my puny human mind could grasp Her beyond-infinite multi-verse powers.

But what was more real, more accessible to me, was a direct taste of Her Original Will. It was birthing our tiny cosmos in the Eternal Present Moment. That meant that micro-cosmically, a sliver of that Original Will was deep inside my core channel.

The primal force of Water Dragon Helene helped me to feel our unique cosmos was the Child being birthed from a watery meta-cosmic womb.

The Original Will flowing through this womb is continuously stepping itself down into an individuated creative Free Will at the heart of our cosmos.

This in turn  is infused into every being, which at the material-body level is a tiny spark within every elemental in our cosmos.

My Inner Sage says One Cloud himself never achieved this final 9^th formula of merging with wuji. He just passed down the list of Alchemy Formulas from 1,000 years ago.

One Cloud was likely hoping that someone after him would figure out a way to crack open the final formula.

I believe the 9 Inner Alchemy Formulas originated from a high level Tao adept like Lu Dong bin, the “patron saint of Taoist inner alchemy”. Read more about the formulas here.

Asheville’s Dive into Darkness

Back to my physical reality in Asheville. My electric power went out, there was no internet, cell phones would not work as cell towers were damaged by the storm. I was living in a candle light realm, which mirrored beautifully the magic of my spiritual breakthrough.

Luckily, I had a propane gas refrige and freezer, so my food did not spoil, unlike most everyone else in Asheville. I had pressurized metal tanks, bladders storing water from my well.

So I had food, water, flush toilets, no survival issues. The weather was warm and sunny.

The net result?

I was floating in a watery sea of heavenly bliss, high on a mountain ridge. Cut off from the world, I had no way of knowing that down below, many of Asheville 250,000. residents were drowning in a dark watery Hell, struggling just to survive.

The Paradox of Life on Earth

This is the paradox of life on planet Earth. Radically different realities co-exist, side-by-side. Life and death, joy and suffering, good and evil.

It’s Humanity’s creative process. It’s our collective karma to walk the razor’s edge between heaven and Earth, in order to refine our Yin-Yang balancing skills.

I see climate change as part of that process. It’s Gaia consciously willing “creative destruction” to awaken the mass of Her 8 billion children. “Wake up, kids! It’s time to make a big evolutionary leap”.

Asheville Cave vs. Mt. Hua Cave

As I lay on the comfort of my magical flying couch, I realized the parallel to my experience of spending a week in a Mt. Hua cave 22 years earlier.

Life in that cave was far more spartan. I lay on a sleeping bag surrounded by hard granite walls, with no food or water for a week.

It was my voluntary choice to enter into that dark cave space, which led me on a journey deep inside the mountain, into its core channel.

I realized the mountain was a Being, with its own karma. It’s elements had the job of nurturing many generations of Tao adepts back to Origin.There they could create new realities in their life as spiritual immortals.

The outer granite cave was just a portal to the cave inside my own body, into the darkest, deepest space within of my own core channel. It led directly to the core of Gaia, who shares her heart with the cosmic heart.

My 2002 Mt. Hua cave experience ran parallel to my 2024 Asheville “hurricane cave” inner journey. In both cases, the “cave adept” has no outer worldly destiny to pursue.

Our personality is normally focused on its worldly destiny. Cave life removes that option, and forces us to go inward. We have no choice but to shift the focus of our Free Will to our soul’s evolution.

The only way forward for the personality is to go deeper within the “human body cave”, to face your deepest, inner most self. That Self is beyond any recognizable human shape. It has no face, arms, legs.

But it still has human spiritual qualities of Love and creative impulse, that we can relate to.

The main difference between the two cave journeys was Mt. Hua offered a powerful concentration of highly conscious Earth Elementals. Taoists had awakened the mountain by meditating on its peaks and in its caves for at least three thousand years, according to written records.

The Asheville Hurricane Cave exploration was driven by Water Elementals. In Taoist alchemy, Water is the Queen of the 5 elements, as it births the other four. In the same way, the apparently “empty” watery space births stars and planets.

These higher dimensional Early Heaven water elementals are invisible to a scientist’s telescope. Cultivating water is primary in many Tao methods of Water and Fire alchemy.

Both caves used the alchemy principle of boosting one’s soul vibration to a higher frequency. Without this boost, we are stuck at the sensory level of the personality.

Our local body-mind can only see, feel, smell, etc. a short distance. Our soul can interact with forces on the far side of the cosmos.

The moral of my 5 days in an Asheville Hurricane Cave is that every dark cave has a silver lining, waiting to shine radiantly into our post-cave, post-storm life.
