Bagua,
Just wanted to say that now I recognize that there are offensive jins in Wing Chun. Becuase it was one of the first styles I learned as a kid, I didn’t know anything about qi at age 9-10. The energy comes from the ground up. I had the form, but didn’t project my awareness of qi to it, so I had no internal power.
It relies on good form. A twist of the ankle and spring of the foot, hip torque, waist rotation, shoulder whip, elbow drop, loose fist, and tighten on impact. It’s a soft-hard jin. It’s good, but other styles are higher level. I dig my Tibetan Lions Roar teacher and Wudang Taiji as my prime.

Check out taijiworld.com and scout out their site. It’s a bit unorganized but I think that you’ll find what you’re looking for. Also, maybe even better is the online lessons that Erle teaches right now. One of his lessons are called, “The Mind and Mechanics of Fa-Jin”. Download that one. There is also, “Chi, Jin [although he calls it jing], and Martial Power.” There are other goods lessons too. The site is taichiamerica.com, just click on online lessons and see which lessons are being offered.
If you’re interested in the yang style, it wouldn’t hurt to try the origin of yang style, the old yang style with the yang lu chan form taught by Erle, it’s simply amazing, what motivated me to go to wudang for 4 years. Erle is a genuine teacher, my advice, you should read some of his articles on his site and browse through his stuff, it’s not some bogus taiji as taught by many these days.
Smiles out,

I just wondered if you can explain a bit what you meant by >>there is a heart movement<< I've been doing primordial for about 6 months and I notice an opening of sorts in the heart, warm compassion, and total strangers seem to be very open to me and trusting. I'm trying to articulate here what changes I have noticed, in a way it's difficult to put into words, but basically the heart seems to be getting 'softer'. Is this similar to what you meant? I'm just constantly amazed at the blessings that this form showers on me. Thanks. -matApril 1, 2006 at 4:23 am #12124matblackParticipantApril 1, 2006 at 6:11 am #12126JernejParticipantI generaly sign letters Happy.Jernej so am as much happy as jernej.

What Im going to say is just my experience, maybe michael can conform?
When you bring the hands around the orbit then go to heart center level and move then forward, this influences the heart and when you spiral to right-left-right, which is partially connected to the past, future and present, its only the shen that can do this, and the heart channel begins in the armpit, those movements do activate that area, in my view all these influences the heart/shen.

Great links thanks. I don’t practice tumo although I am facinated with it. I think I’ll find a balanced version of it here in the alchemy, an with the help given at alchemicaltaoism I see the connection between the tantric and taoist. I respect the Tibetans a lot but I don’t want to enter into that kind of student teacher relationship. I have enough to practice with now and with three kids and work I am plenty busy.

I have this triple VCD with this monk from Lu Shan doing this form called Sanfeng Taiji, it starts with three crossed fist movements: down, forward and rotating inwards and up. Is that the form you practice?
I don’t have time right now to visit Wudang, or learn any more forms, but was just curious to know. Do you know the guy in richmond teaching Wudang Gong Fu? I think there are a bunch of monks visiting Vancouver in the summer to do a performance, probably on their way to Colorado.
