I disagree with the notion that we were some kind of “undifferentiated horde” until human consciousness evolved. Tribal consciousness to my mind, is as much about individuality as it is about unity. Its individuality on a group level. This is why tribes clash and have continued to clash from the dawn of history, they struggle with each other for…[Read more]

Hello everyone
I’ve been following these discussions with fascination and would like to contribute something.
Shamans have been tracking, retrieving and reintegrating soul fragments since the dawn of humanity. I am convinced Taoist alchemy has its roots in this.
Shamans are also involved in identifying, removing, and psychopomping…[Read more]

You mentioned that you had been through the Xinjiang region. Many writers seem to point to this region as containing the remnants of Shambhala, including Nicholas Roerich. I’ve heard that this was a colony of lemurians. There does seem to be some amazing things going on there – red-haired mummies, populations of mixed mongolian and…[Read more]

Found a quote from another website on Tai Chi
It clearly shows that centering the weight over the bubbling wells is NOT a misuse of practice – Cheng Man-Ching, the Tai Chi Chuan grandmaster himself clearly teaches that it is the balance point. This is not to say that standing on the heels is not also a valid practice. I fail to see however,…[Read more] -

I have to agree with you.
Many pointless arguments crop up around a simple question of language.
One person sees Tai Chi as a historical martial art founded only by the Chen family and passed on through members to other students.
Another person goes along with the Chang Sang Feng lineage which originally called the art Wu Dang Kungfu…[Read more]

I am by no means an expert on the subject but I have thought upon it for some time now.
I believe there was indeed a Tai Chi practice predating the Chen family, Chang Sang Feng predates them with his Wu Ji Gong although it wasn’t called Tai Chi at that time. I think it goes even further back than this though.
I remember the first book I read on…[Read more] -

Kenneth Cohen describes the divine not as impersonal but transpersonal, not excluding the impersonal and the personal but inlcuding them and yet going beyond them. Immanent and transendant, the Tao.
The anglo-saxon word “holy” is connected with “whole” and “heal” and “health” which would imply connectedness.I don`t think us humans…[Read more]

Thanks hagar
You should ask your friend’s father about the fly agaric mushroom. This was what they used before alcholic spirits came along. Throughout Siberia too. Reindeers love them and they may have been used to lure stray reindeer back to the herd. The shamans drank the piss of the reindeer (no kidding, this maybe where the English term “to…[Read more]

Thanks for the info Jsrit
Interestingly the fly agaric has also been suggested as the fruit of the tree of knowledge whcih would explain its banning by orthodox religeon. The Kabbalists and Gnostics were well aware of it though.

Thank you Michael
Looking forward to your winter solstice letter and your experiences in the spring.
I’m sure you are aware that Fly agaric has been suggested as Soma of the ancient Hindus and that they obtained it through trade with Central Asia.

In Ken Cohen’s book he describes the taoists view of imagination as the primal ground of the universe. This original pristine imagination is the true source of all alchemical archetypes and symbols. This makes sense to me as I can’t imagine anyone inventing a complicated image or symbol just to manipulate the chi. The images in their original form…[Read more]

I also have an uneasy feeling when I read about and encounter Falun Dafa practitioners. It reminds me of the feeling that I had years ago conversing with a couple of Mormons on my doorstep. I didn’t feel like I was talking to individuals, and any real questions I asked were just passed over.
