Bagua,
If a Daoist attempts to balance something, it was previously imbalanced. That’s what I meant by them being polarized.
The state of awareness I meant is wu-hsin, no mind. You cannot experience something if you are one with the experience. Hence, I do not experience, it is experienced. That’s what I mean by the experience being…[Read more]

Thank goodness for those power naps, otherwise I would be sleeping (3:30 am) during this lovely discussion.
Michael,
My main point for ming and xing is that they are dualities and that there is something between the dualities. When we live in that between, ming and xing do their stuff, ie. mutually nourish each other.
It is not that I…[Read more]

Hi Bagua,
You said things nicely. Except, I wouldn’t say that they polarize because things are already polarized. Buddhists just view things in a certain way to help them to see the isness, or the oneness. This kind of view is required if your intent is on the beyond. That’s why the sutras are transcendent wisdom. It is beyond the polarities,…[Read more]

Hi Bagua,
I will drop by from time to time to the forum and would love to meet you in person one day, wether in China or the States.
Michael is making a nice implication with 5 shen’s destiny, but my point is that yuan shen is Wu Ji, the root, and the five shen’s destiny is to go back to the root as with all of the 10, 000 things and that’s…[Read more]

Hi Michael,
>>I think it’s best not to think of this as “sides”, but as ongoing explorationof truth.<>Unless you find a way to share that purificationand self-realization that occurs with this plane, your destiny (ming) will be incomplete even though your xing (essence) is more refined.<<

Hi Michael,
I meant when cultivating a golden ball in the dantian, would it be OK to also add fire and water (I meant the body’s inner sulfur and mercury) to the inner conconction, or would that yield disastrous effects. Because it may not be a golden elixer pellet anymore but something else? Just wondering if you have any idea what might…[Read more]

Hi Dog,
I was not speaking directly to you, but to anyone that wanted to head down Zhang, Sanfeng’s path. I was not supposed to enter discussions because I said I wanted some time by myself to practice more meditation and alchemy and then come back after some more years.
And I have entered this discussion because I just wanted to emphasize…[Read more]

Guarding the thoughts is a way of stopping them. Be like the moon’s reflection which rides the waves as they go on rolling and rocking. Thoughts are swept when they are forgotten. Go to this address if you are interested in cultivating golden elixer, start with step 2. Shikantaza is a good one too.

Hi Michael,
The alchemy taught at Wudangshan where I am is derived from Zhang, Sanfeng. I am going to begin practicing it soon and will post updates on my experiences next year so you guys can get a general overview on it.
Chang Sanfeng believed that Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism all head towards the same goal but take different…[Read more]

It’s nice you showed this the last day I was here.
I can’t understand the chinese text so I don’t know if they teach what I learned. If it has roots from Grand Master Zhong Yun Long, then it is.
Anyway, I’ll demonstrate my Wudang forms to you and Farooq one day, and show you around with Wudang push hands and hunyuan qigong and other nifty…[Read more]

Thanks Bagua,
My program is kind of similar to yours in that I do nei dan in the morning, but my iron wire set combines the sounds. And I do yogasanas (you do Chia’s Daoyin?) right after nei dan in the morning just like you, What a coincidence!
I also practice Wudang style Ba Duan Jin every once in a while. Don’t know if you know this…[Read more]
