Dude stop using the word ‘taoists’ anyone can do it.
I answered your question already. It’s a question of free will. You could start by defining ‘evil’ but please don’t involve me in this discussion!

… even I can do it a little – certainly Buddhists can, it’s not hard or a sectarian thing.
Why not eliminate evil leaders? Because humans have free will. See ‘Time Bandits’ for a deeper explanation.

And don’t forget what happened to Michael when all the wood in his house suddenly cracked.
Come to think of it there’s a story about Freud and Jung arguing, and Jung said – ok, to prove everything is connected, I will say that your staircase is about to creak. And it did. But Freud found a way to dismiss it. Something like that.
Anyway…[Read more]

I have a great book called ‘Opening The Dragon Gate’ – a super read on Taoism, about a modern-day Taoist’s training.
In that book some Taoists were travelling across China during the famine that accompanied Mao’s ‘Great Leap Forward’. They came across a village suffering an outbreak of cholera.
They took the sufferers into a space and the…[Read more]

Now at least in my own mind I understand what the hell everyone is talking about. I still say there is fundamentally no real disagreement here, and I say that because I appear to agree with everybody!
As for the questions that remain – wuji vs. primordial, yuan as prenatal, etc. etc., – well we will all find out the truth sooner or later, so I…[Read more]

I want to say exactly what *I* mean – even, just for myself! Then you can call me anything you like and tell me I am following a false prophet and rejecting the true immortals if you want! – but don’t worry, because things are not so bad as that.
So firstly, I asked the question about the myriad things, or the 10,000 things. I ask this because…[Read more]

I still think this is an argument about language primarily, for example, when you say this:
>>*Sitting in Chan fashion helps one to understand that their true self is a “non-doer”. That spirit is neutrality that governs vitality (jing) and energy (qi) as Lu Dong Bin says. Master Zhiyang, Zhang, Sanfeng,…[Read more]

My answers would be:
>>Where is Yang generated?<>If you have no Yin, can you have Yang or Yuan?<>If the log is low, can there be much fire?<<
The flame of yang does NOT burn on a log of yin! Yin and Yang are always *equal* partners which is why there is yuan!
I know why you are saying this – you think physical manifestation 'depends on'…[Read more]

A disciple asked Shang-yang-tzu, “It is certainly true that ‘there are not two Ways in the world.’ The Way of Lao-tzu is the Way of alchemy, the Way of alchemy is the Way of essence and life. But what Bodhidharma brought from India is ‘directly pointing to the human mind for perception of its essence and attainment of buddhahood.’ Is this…[Read more]
