Egypt was an attempt to rebuild atlantis. The difference between certain types of western and daoist alchemy is that the western approach uses will to the extreme, and can sometimes spill over into manipulation. Excess use of will sometimes overrides the cultivation of virtue (“de”). Virtue is the strength of daoist cultivation. Both seek…[Read more]

loving your body is crucial. Even being comfortable dancing is a matter of loving your body.
we can be spiritual, but the body is the other half of the equation, the reason why we are here.having the free will to love is our birthright, we have the free will to choose it over doubt.

There is a lot of truth in the idea that people go through stages in first transforming the sexual connection, then emotional and spiritual. Its not always in that order but that seems to be what people are looking to satisfy first these days and then have to deal with all the other stuff almost as an afterthought. Much better to start with a…[Read more]

I agree with the essential core of what you are saying is, that we live from the core channel, which is neutral, or yuan qi/jing/shen. I wouldn’t personally associate emptiness as being the same, although if you mean it in a loose kind of way I understand. generally I associate emptiness with an absence of something, but isn’t yuan qi an…[Read more]

Chen Yingning (18801969)
Tang Dynasty (18 June 6184 June 907)
Interesting to note anyway, that the Nei Yeh, almost identical to the Dao De Jing, and placed earlier by some scholars, focuses almost entirely on methods of bodily alignment, guiding the Qi, and different forms of cultivation.

Thanks for your opinion. Please remember that it is just your opinion – it appears that we are arguing when we try to say our opinions as FACT that negate the other, so I’m glad to hear how you feel, although I have a different take, and enjoy being different.
It appears that we agree on experiencing an everchanging centerpoint, but differ in…[Read more]

…in the empty vessel magazine I found interesting, particularly her comment about not understanding why there are so many english translations of the Dao De Jing when there are over 3000 other daoist texts that are relatively unknown in the west, many of them on some form of inner alchemy.
Then the question becomes: how deep can we go into…[Read more]

“I am using Names (words) to let you know that all I find valuable is the Nameless, beyond words. But if you reply to my words using your own words, they will have no real meaning, since they are just words”.I found this description very much on the mark in describing Bagua’s viewpoint. One could even paraphrase this by saying:…[Read more]

Hey Bagua,
It seems that your view is based on an interpretation of Lao Zi and Zhuang Zi, as “being one in the tao” through acceptance/observation of your natural state without will to direct the course of events. So, in your experience, do events have a course of unfolding or are they all simultaneous, ever present, all future and all past at…[Read more]

Hello Nnonnth,
Thanks for your in-depth thoughts on the issue, I really am being honest in that I still do not understand what you mean when you say “life” and “essence”. Cleary was basically a buddhist and relied heavily on that even when translating daoist texts; that does not discount his skill as a translator, only that I am not familiar…[Read more]

I will answer more when I have more time. Dissolution and free will are a large part of the discussion. Not quite sure what you mean by “life” and “essence”.
Part of the question may be do we dissolve back into the wuji or does the dissolution result in those unresolved aspects coming back to further seek resolution (where the…[Read more]

I think the focus on Neutral force has clarified the Kan and Li practice, and makes it more clear. As I understand it, this is not the way it is always taught. The practice is the same in essence.
Was shooting the pearl out of the body the way Kan and Li was originally taught?

I am merely translating the Chinese characters in the Chinese text on the right side of the page: harold roth says “inner power”, but the term is the same one used in the title of the Dao De Jing, “De”, or virtue, or morality according to most chinese-english dictionaries.

It is possible that some streams of Shangqing Daoism are similar to the Five Interior Gods School with their emphasis on personal meditation, or maybe it was a different school, or maybe both schools arose from another source. Hard to say at this point.

I agree that practice should be satisfactory enough to not have to argue that any particular one “is the best”. I appreciate your movement towards unification. I do think it is important though that all practices are not the same. I am merely backing up the alchemical viewpoint, since if I simply agreed with Bagua, then my own practice would…[Read more]
