Thanks Skillet.
Did you read the article from the link I posted?
There’s a big section about the fraud perpetrated by Monsanto about this item. They originally sold it by saying it was as harmless as table salt and they fabricated their scientific info to back it up and got caught. Several people got stiffly fined and sent to jail. I do not like to encourage industry like this by buying the product. I probably won’t use it. Thanks again, S.
April 30, 2007 at 7:44 pm #22107SophiaParticipantWould anyone here know about the ACTUAL effects of using Roundup to kill yard weeds? I read the Wikipedia info (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roundup#Health_Concerns) and it leaves me questioning. People say the ingredients break down shortly after use and are not harmful but certain evidence leads me to believe otherwise.

Welcome to this forum! I’ve been absent recently due to time pressures, but am really pleased to have another enlightened female voice here (unless you are a man posing as Sophis/Wisdom….but it doesn’t feel like it).I completely agree with Shapiro’s viewpoint, and may actually publish a different version of the atlantis-lemuria history later this year as an ebook. I’ve been threatening to for some years, looking for the right publishing format. Now I’ve decided an ebook will get it moving, and decide the rest later. In fact, I recently started reading Shapiro recently and found him to be both fun and sophisticated, as channelers go. He has a quite a cast of aliens and races moving in and out of the earth’s grid. I like his idea of the chinese race emerging from the earth rather than descending from above – it fits with their placing Earth as the central element of the five elemetns. I suspect the lemurians are from the same source.Yes, Pema is man, and wants a method, women just give birth, no method. But women still need to get pregnant, and skillful method can go a long way there….;)I think he’ll get the right balance this summer at the Sun-Moon-Deep Earth alchemy retreat…..getting into the earth’s energy body is as easy as surrendering to gravity, but who bothers going REALLY deep into that? We usually just pause at the surface boundary…. Same with unconditional love, just another expression of spiritual gravity. Getting deep takes a little effort, given the density/resistance in this plane.Love to hear more about you. What is your spiritual background? Where are you geogrpahically? Which star do you really come from????
🙂
michael<Let's start with the star and work downward….
I have an very strong affinity with the star Altair in the constellation Aquila (the Eagle).
Ultimately, I think of The Source as Home. Sometimes, when folks have asked me in that new-agey way, "What planet are you from?" I want to respond- "I'm not from a planet. I'm from Space." Aaaaahhhhh, the Feminine.
I am in America and since I have a very private nature will leave it at that.
Many years ago I was involved with yoga and meditation, teaching it and doing related personal growth work back when it was just hitting the scene. I have studied all around and for a long time was very involved professionally in the "human potential" movement. I am much more private these days and I practice chi gung, mostly, and a lot of meditation. I am now chef in my own place, and a writer. I have a passionate love for beauty, sensuality, the mysteries, and freedom.
Thanks for asking!

April 18, 2007 at 3:16 am #21998SophiaParticipantAn excerpt from “The Explorer Race” channeled by Robert Shapiro. This channeling is dated 2/12/90:
“Lemurians did not need to build houses for their comfort. They could create comfort, they could allow comfort. They did not need externalized technology. The whole idea behind Atlantis was that human beings could learn to control their environment externally. And since those were largely the issues of the source problems relating to the male and female, it was believed that the best possible resolution of these problems could occur through confrontation and the abrupt canceling of Atlantis so that you, in this specific time right now, could resolve them. All things that are canceled- that is, stopped before their time- must be completed. You are in a better position, genetically and spiritually, due to your emotion and spirit, to resolve those issues now without repeating them completely.
You will see in the next few years some things that you won’t like. You’ll see corporations (you’ve already begun to see this to some extent) patenting actual flesh and blood. You will see regional patents and forms of life created by corporations that say, “They belong to us.” But you are now going to be in a position to resolve this. Feminine energy is rising on this planet within not only feminine beings but masculine beings as well, so there will be greater alignment of the ability to resolve.”
Pema, my personal perspective on how to be with the earth during this transformational period is that the more practice we have being in the neutral space with unconditional love the better. I do not think we need to worry about the grid.
As indicated in this channeling, and many others, the issues we are resolving are largely Atlantian, and those issues are ones of fear and control. As a techno-society birthed in the wake of those Atlantian issues, we are prone to believe we have to create a solution to them. What we really have to do is behave more like the Lemurian culture which was not techno-entranced. To my mind, developing a healthy relationship with the lifeforce which is love and allowing-based can provide non-egocentered solutions for us. As the feminine energies become stronger we will see more situations in which the “mothering principle” is automatically applied. Where basic old paradigm would say, “If you can pay for the food, you can have it,” basic mothering principle says, “When someone is hungry, you feed them.”
In short, a loving consciousness that is aligned with the Dao does not worry about the future and try to control everything. Like the Dao, it is open, calm and giving.

I’ve always thought the “substance” people got from going to gyms was from chasing OTHER people’s tails.

April 12, 2007 at 4:34 pm #21965SophiaParticipantI wouldn’t let my mind worry this, Christopher. You will spontaneously resolve it through practice.
When I first started doing Daoist practices and learned that the left is considered the yang side (and acupuncurists call it “your father’s side) I was taken aback and confused. The only intellectual explanation I had for this was that everybody else who said the right is the masculine side (and that is virtually Everyone else!)was seeing how the external energy appears, while the internal energy actually flows opposite from that. Similar to what Chris/Voice is saying.
But after some time of practice all doubt left me and it seems clear to me that the left is yang and the right yin. How this plays itself out has to be an individual thing for each of us. Why don’t you just practice in the way you were taught and let it show you what is happening inside you. The form itself will teach you. And that’s not just with Primordial. I initially found this out through the practice of Pangu which counter-rotates the left and right side thrusting channels into the central channel balancing and harmonizing them.
Have fun with it!
SophiaApril 12, 2007 at 4:13 pm #21888SophiaParticipant…when all the inner pieces are in place.
Jsrit- This is what I am responding to that you have put forth:
“I still think a Taoist University for Peace is a grat idea. There is so much important research we could do and are doing?
In my quest for credit in Tao studies, I ended up getting 45 undergrad credits through Goddard college. Perhaps the Healing Tao University should more explictly affiliate itself with other schools that allow for this kind of credit? Perhaps even targeting college age people who are really the heart of our society and able to work for peace with the FORMING DIRECTION of their life?”
Your motivation here is clearly to swerve people to your own way of thinking so that the world can come to peace. This is zealotry, not Daoism.
I understand your enthusiasm. But why try to couch a new paradigm within an old one? I see no need to create “an accredited institution” of Daoist philosophy and practice. Isn’t that just a way of gaining the approval of the powers that be? Showing the old that the new is valid? This is like the effort to prove scientifically to skeptics that the lifeforce exists. It is not our job. It is an entanglement to release from our systems. Better to simply present the teachings, as Michael has done, so that people can participate in them as their self-motivation directs, and let the lifeforce do the rest of the orchestration of the field.
And, on the other hand, if you have a true, heartfelt motivation to do something within the traditional paradigm, then intend that and see what happens. All energy goes eventualy towards a positive end. But if I were you, I would spend some signiificant time sitting in the neutral space until my intensity for external change mellowed into peacful acceptance of what is.
Sincerely, Sophia
April 9, 2007 at 5:54 pm #21851SophiaParticipant“…be careful not to focus externally for grounding; by being aware of our energetic consciousness through cultivation, we can find the earth energy within ourselves that communicates with the earth being below our physical feet, and bridge and embrace the areas of physicality within ourselves that resist communicating with our inner witness.”
That’s a beautiful thought and one that helpfully emphasizes the oneness of all things. It is so habitual to see separation, when seeing relationally produces that healing state so necessary as well as a more pleasant experience in general. -Sophia
April 4, 2007 at 4:26 pm #21878SophiaParticipantJust a brief word here from my heart’s spontaneous reaction to this conversation.
I hear agendas all over the place and they are a turn-off!
I hear the calculating masculine mind trying to determine the best way to change the world and I know true change will not come from that approach. (That’s not Daoist, anyway!)
Stop trying to figure it all out.
Follow your wonderful excitement, but don’t let it go to your head.

April 4, 2007 at 3:37 am #21841SophiaParticipantB- “When we say people are disconnected from their bodies what do we mean?”
What *I* mean by that is not being in touch with what we feel, physically, emotionally, psychically or spiritually. The place that we feel from is our body. We want to bring it all down here. That is what is meant by “embodiment.”
B- “These practices are made to break us open.”
Personally, Barry, I do not like the use of the word “break” there. I am not trying to break myself open in an effort to get free of my stuff. I think of all this more as a spiritual sex kind of thing where the body and spirit are moving together in love, and through the space they create in the middle let love steam away the miscreated energies and blockages, and create identification with neutrality and wholeness.
I think of doing these practices as simply following the course of nature. When we do them we “accelerate” our growth only because we are deciding to swim in the direction life is already taking us. It is actually easier to swim with the tide than against it, so the idea of working hard on my growth I have come to understand as part of the problem.
Ludrup is suggesting that if he takes people into their energy bodies before they have some rooting skill that they will get lost, and I agree with him. But a careful balancing of both sides is necessary and that is a very individual thing. Westerners in particular have the desire to escape from their feelings and ignore their bodies, and to live from their heads instead. So it is necessary to emphasize building a relationship with earth energies downward to support the growth upward, like a tree does. Since we are human, we encounter ourselves along the way. This shows us where the love isn’t, and what we have next to do.
For emphasis, I agree with focus on the center, the cosmic space in which it all happens.

-SApril 3, 2007 at 3:28 pm #21837SophiaParticipant“…IA is a high art and requires a certain grounding and opening in the physicality of the body before you can work with the energy body in an embodied way.”
Ludrup, The essence of the work, as I experience it, is finding balance between yin and yang until that balance spontaneously continues on its own. It’s always a matter of unifying the physical body, the yin, with the energy body, the yang; they are the two modes of the one original force. There is a long process of integration at higher and higher levels until it establishes itself as one. But it is never about anything but this balance.
As for what you say about people being ungrounded- we must be able to feel the energy in order to be properly grounded because that is part of what we are grounding. But we will be able to go only so far into the higher formulae if we are not willing to take the body and its emotions along with us. Disconnection is due mostly from not allowing our feelings to direct us instead of our minds -as in Barry’s comment about balancing out the big head.

April 1, 2007 at 12:31 am #21831SophiaParticipantHi Ludrup,
What I like to do now, and what I’ve found to be the perfect balancing agent for me after many years of inner and outer practice, is to close every practice I do by rubbing my palms together gently several times and then placing them over the center of my chest, sometimes smiling and sometimes just maitaining a softness about myself.
Somehow this contact with my spiritual heart allows my inner wisdom to determine the best thing to do with whatever energies are circulating at the time. Sometimes I just quiet down and sometimes I see my energies spin together or move around in spirals or other patterns and then settle into a little pearl formation in my abdomen. Then there is always stillness with a sense of being connected within the earth through my feet.
In peace, S
