I think you've got a great understanding of how we (as the 'human race') are now. We really are just animals. I think it's a big mistake to think of ourselves as something 'more important'. And you are right about Armed Freedom – in our mamalian society *that* provides for the best solution – certainly if I was the leader of a tribe – this is the philosophy I would follow. It allows for the coexistence of many different tribes in a balanced way.
*BUT* – some of us are currently moving way past the simple animal impulses that we all have. Many of us are discovering our 'true selves'. The self that doesn't need to protect itself to feel safe – the self that doesnt have to dominate to feel powerfull – the self that doesn't need to follow science to be 'clever' – the self that doesn't need either sexual prowess or children or 'moral strength' to feel like a true Human. – not many of us have got to that point – but I think that quite a few of us can see the horizon – and we either follow the 'new paradigm' or submit to the old paradigm of 'me against you' which is our base 'programing'.
We have more resources than ever – to create a great life for *everyone* on the planet – and untill we overcome the impulse to hoard and conquer and submit/dominate and to be clever/stupid and to be moral/parental/sexual then we could create the utopia we've heard/dreamt of before.
We're reaching a time in human evolution that requires a massive paradigm shift – and the direction we look towards is the direction we go towards. We can either carry on the old animal games we've been playing for thousands of years or we can choose something new… it's up to us, our individual selves to embrace and integrate our 'animal selves' so that we can overcome the shallow games that have kept us so trapped for such a long time.
I know it sounds new-age – and I know that a utopia sounds even less likely – but we have a choice – either keep sinking lower into the depths of distruction or rise above it. We get what we put our attention on – if I get a gun, that act unconciously presupposes that there is something to fight against – and this re-enforces the old animal paradigm. If we take the view that everyone loves us and we love everyone and the world will unite as a single entity – it *may* not happen in our lifetime, but we would be paving the way for such a possibility.
I've really enjoyed this debate, and it's really brought a lot of issues/ideas to the table – so I'm very thankfull for that.
