The incarnatory ego is impermanent. In your opinion that makes it also false or illusory. That IS what you are saying, isn’t it?
When you call something false or illusory you are implying that it would be better to be without it!
When something is ‘false’ then you are saying that *instead* of looking at the false, you should look at what is…[Read more]

Nope Fajin I’m not buying it. It is not illusory and it is not false if a man kills another man. It is real. It is only a mistake because it is real. If it were illusory it would be meaningless. If all here were illusory there would be no difference between loving and hating.
Why keep the body alive if it false or illusory?
Is it a mistake…[Read more]

>>False can mean impermanent or illusory<<
Not in *my* dictionary it can't!
There is a *whole heck of alot of difference* Fajin, between saying 'kill the ego so it is GONE' and 'kill it so it is TRANSFORMED'.
As usual the only lesson to come out of this infernal ruckus of sloppy thinking is that everyone actually agrees with everyone all…[Read more]

>>They were themselves<<
How, if they had given up their self?
Understand, I know what you mean!
I am only trying to point out how ludicrous this whole idea of 'giving up self' is *as a linguistic paradigm*. You never, ever, ever give up self. Ever!

Now I just wish Bagua and Fajin would agree! NN

Did anyone ever see ‘Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves’? Don’t deny it, I know you did!
There’s this great bit in it. Morgan Freeman plays a moslem in this film, a moor, who returns to England with Robin. They call him a ‘painted man’ because of his dark skin.
At an evening celebration in the forest he is sitting by the fire when a little girl…[Read more]

>>Taoism is the only religion I know that accepts imperfect humans into the ranks of its 8 Immortals. – that he was not a ‘spiritual pioneer’ like you would admire at all, but believed all he had to do was be like his impression of someone else out of a book. In other words he had discovered nothing from his *own* understanding.
I say this because of course I agree with you that those who follow their own truth are admirable for that. It’s just…[Read more]

If one man kills another, a Buddhist would consider this ‘wrong’.
I am having a hard time understanding why!
After all, the action is egotistical and ‘false’, and both men are already immortal anyhow! So what difference does it make to cause harm here in the physical, if it is all so ‘false’?

And I’d add that like Michael says, *only* Buddhism really takes thus ultra-extremist attitude. So yeah certainly Taoism, but also just about anything else could be interesting to me. I mean we all find things in out-of-the-way places don’t we?
That’s the irony – this is still really just a war of words. Like you say, if people weren’t trying…[Read more]

This will and belief of iron are the same will and belief of iron that religious fanatics everywhere show, whether in the present US administration, their Islamic nemesis(isisies), the various loopy cults around the world, etc. This is not an awakeness to the wonder of being human, this is manic escapist self-deception. The guy was not being his…[Read more]

It is very simple.
What is the point – the reason or usefulness or necessity or purpose – of you, Bagua, being incarnated in a human body right at this second?
