Try moving the whole mandala to where the difficult energy is, then back to the centeer when you feel like you are ready.

singing ocean replied to the topic Re: for Ocean.: Shen and other 'reflection of the moon' concepts. in the forum Philosophy 18 years, 7 months ago
What is “grasping the reflection of the moon?” Is it a metaphor for something that is not real? Do you not recognize reality, the real and the non-real? Does an impermanent object have less validity than a permanent one?
The deep neutral state is an EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I hope you get the point).
It becomes a…[Read more] -

I should clarify that I practice the M.Winn stream of alchemy within “HT”, as I have trained both and do not get the same results.
Is not the inner smile the stillness practice?
Herein you outline the contrast between doing and non-doing from the perspective of someone who does “personal qigong”, as I have found moving and still alchemy to…[Read more]

singing ocean replied to the topic My interpretation to Singing Ocean – "correction" (con'td) in the forum Philosophy 18 years, 7 months ago
More jing does mean a stronger will, but more Zhi in the kidneys does not mean automatic free will in my view.
I think free will is the harmonization of ALL the conditioned jingshen (vital organ shen) to work together and create neutrality. In this sense, all the positive and negative aspects of ALL the vital organ shen in the conditioned…[Read more]

It seems that your concept of the “vital organ shen” as energy strands with emotional charges that need resolving would be closer to the “conditioned self” in daoist terminology; patterned reactions, or unresolved issues.
What I mean is not communication with the conditioned self, but with the pure unconditioned virtue qualities that are not…[Read more]

It sure sounded like you were saying that there is only free will through the jing in later heaven/physical plane, but that’s OK.
So, in YOUR VIEW, if you isolate free will in the Jingshen of the kidney Zhi (vital organ spirit), is that in the conditioned self, or the pure virtue qualities of early heaven?

singing ocean replied to the topic Question for Bagua and a lesson about the life force! in the forum Philosophy 18 years, 7 months ago
So, I would think it is more effective than one-pointedness to get a direct communication from your vital organ shen to tell you what to do.
This comes down to a problem of unclear language again; I think what you really mean is to observe the self, while I am talking about listening to the self and talking to it. In some ways we are saying…[Read more]

Alchemys still works even when people have minimal time to practice. Having half an hour to focus on the pearl is ideal, but not everyone has that luxury; it also depends on how much intermittent focus one puts on the inner self between formulas and stages, while staring at the sun etc.
The strength in movement qigong is that it activates the…[Read more]

Thanks for the info; like I said, I don’t have time right now to learn any new forms and am happy with what I practice also. I asked because I am always interested to watch new forms, and research them.

Fa,
I have this triple VCD with this monk from Lu Shan doing this form called Sanfeng Taiji, it starts with three crossed fist movements: down, forward and rotating inwards and up. Is that the form you practice?
I don’t have time right now to visit Wudang, or learn any more forms, but was just curious to know. Do you know the guy in…[Read more]

singing ocean replied to the topic Question for Bagua and a lesson about the life force! in the forum Philosophy 18 years, 7 months ago
I am not looking for disagreement, but would like some clarity in terms. I do not equate free will with Zhi (I know it means will). Zhi is a certain kind of will that also manifests in qi and shen.
Free will manifests through the positive, negative and neutral ego, which includes all the shen, and also manifests in the formless planes.

singing ocean replied to the topic Round 6: Yuan Shen's Desire for Yuan Jing Freedom (Essay) in the forum Philosophy 18 years, 7 months ago
whoops, I meant to say earlier that primordial heaven (hun tun) contains yuan jing, qi and shen; the wu ji is unknown.
The disagreement came from what it sounded like you were saying that there is only yuan SHEN in primordial heaven, qi in early heaven and jing in later heaven. Is that what you meant, or did it just sound like that?

It contains potential yuan jing, qi and shen in an undifferentiated state. Chaos-unity.

But weren’t you also saying that Zhi equals free will? This does not make much sense to me, I think Zhi is more the will to reproduce and to be in the physical form.
The “free will” that we are discussing, positive, neutral and negative ego manifests on form and formless planes, not only the physical, and not only in the kidney spirit but also…[Read more]

there is movement because there is yin, yang and yuan; positive, negative and neutral ego that equals free will. Didn’t I just say that in my post previous to yours?

I understand all the stuff about the wuji stepping iself down to the physical vibration.
To be clear, the part of your explanation that does not work for me is the idea that primordial heaven (wuji) contains only yuan shen; yuan jing, qi and shen are present at all levels, although in smaller amounts in the slower dimensions.

I just want to make a statement about yuan jing. Your view of yuan jing and its limited nature is very much in line with post-communist traditional chinese medicine which views humans as having a limited amount of it, and when it runs out, we die.
The point of inner alchemy is to crystallize yuan jing as a result of harmonizing the five…[Read more]

Fa,
I think you missed the essence of my point, which was that the Wu Ji, as infinite potential, contains yuan shen, yuan qi AND Yuan Jing.
If you go a little further down the postings, you will see a short discussion about the structure of free will (“what is it?”). Essentially the answer that came up was that it is a combination of the…[Read more]
