Hi Adel,
I see you already have some pretty good suggestions,
and in fact, for the most part, mine would overlap. In particular, the best glossary of
Daoist terms with their corresponding
Chinese character (that I’m familiar with),
would be the glossary in the back of the book
“Nourishing Destiny” by Lonny Garrett. He

Steven replied to the topic Solstices should be in the MIDDLE of the season in the forum Philosophy 15 years, 1 month ago
This is why many of the Earth-centered religions
celebrate the Cross Quarters, the days half-way
between the Solstices and Equinoxes . . . they are
sort of the “true” beginning to the season.Groundhog Day, today, is effectively one of them.
Happy Spring.

Rather than focus on the “retention” aspect,
I’d recommend that you build up your kidneys . . .
kidneys being the driving force behind creating
sexual energy and also being that they are the
“batteries” of your body.I recommend taking as an external supplement, Goji juice,
which builds up your kidneys and sexual energySee…[Read more]

The short answer is “it varies”.
It’s all completely personal, and everyone ultimately
comes into their own balance . . . to match what feels
right for them, to match their constitution, to match
their personal feelings, to match how much qigong practice
they do, to match their age, etc. It’s not a simple one-shot answer, I’m afraid.…[Read more]

Steven replied to the topic Earth in Five Elements and Yin/Yang in the forum Philosophy 15 years, 1 month ago
Short answer: It’s a different Earth.
Five-element Earth, as in one of the five phases . . .
is different than Earth (as in the planet or as in
Heaven-Earth-Humanity).You have to really pay attention to context in
Daoist alchemy, because the same word can be used
to describe completely different things.Another example is…[Read more]

Hi David,
There is no absolute right or wrong.
Everything depends on a specific set of circumstances
and what is right for the people involved. In particular, I get the feeling from your posts that
actually all three of you really want to do this, and
you are just hoping that someone will give you confirmation
that it is a good…[Read more] -

I do not have any personal experience with this.
However, I have “heard” that by doing Primordial
it opens up a portal between the formless realm
and the world of form . . . a portal similar to
the one that opens up when someone is born or
when someone dies. Thus, theoretically, it seems possible that doing
Primordial in place that…[Read more] -

Even being such a wild herb cultivator doesn’t necessarily
eliminate some of the benefits of cooking. In particular,
the herb He Shou Wu has traditionally been prepared by
cooking it in black bean soup to reduce some natural
phytotoxins in it, as raw He Shou Wu has some side effects.Traditionally the diet of Taoist mountain hermits is…[Read more]

Putting the ethics of sexual vampirism aside,
which I think is truly important to examine in and by itself,
there are all sorts of potential problems in such an arrangement.1. Yes, extra energy is being introduced into your couple,

One on the left side (above Michael’s picture): THIS IS BROKEN currently. The problem is that similar links in the same webpage are not consistent.

I think this study is fairly complex and non-trivial.
According to the site that I linked (which
provides some information about 5 element
nutrition theory), pineapple is not listed
as Wood . . . but rather as Earth. So there
may be some consistency issues across the field. You might want to check out:
