Mage,
I doubt those old posts are getting a lot of traffic. I really am busy. I think your post here announcing that you’ve changed your view is sufficient. The posts are under a pen name and will not influence your public life.
So I ask you to simply accept atht you’ve changed and post accordingly in the future – create a new reality, let…[Read more] -
Michael Winn replied to the topic Wendy and the womb with a view in the forum General 18 years ago
Trunk,
It’s totally true – the oceans of suffering from past generations are vast. I’ve mostly tapped into this through my wife, who seems particularly sensitive to ancestral issues and opens easily into that ocean of collective pain. It seems like she is drowning in it, but then somehow always learns to swim back into light and joy. A tough…[Read more] -

its people like you and others on this forum who are ahead of the general masses – but that is how the pathways tothe future are laid down. When I started withyoga in New York in the 70’s it was totally underground. now even Christians allow it routines in their church centers….I appreciate your becoming so much more…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic thoughts on virtue in the forum Philosophy 18 years ago
Nice summary of the confusing distinction made betweeen morality and virtue by the Taoists. They would also give virtue some ontological existence, i.e. having its own essence/jing, not mrerely appearing as a transitory emotion or feeling but a real substance that generates those feelings.

Michael Winn replied to the topic Question about Bones, Genetic Memories, and "Golden Soul" vs "Original Spirit" in the forum General 18 years ago
These are a braod range of questions that boil down to one issue: is the “gold” cultivated in internal alchemy real?
Its ahrd to discuss this until oen agrees on a language and gives “reality” to the concepts such as “soul” or “spirit”. without that, the only reality is abstract speculation about concepts.
My experience is that “gold”…[Read more]

Re: Qigong Movements as effects rather than causes
From: jimbo>I can agree with the notion that it works both ways. What I have trouble with is that a given motion creates an effect…

Catherine,
thanks for your post. I invite you to share your explorations further. For myself, I found it necessary to not mix the hindu term Chakra (“wheel”)
and chinese Dantian/TanTien which means “Field of the “Elixir”. They refer in each culture to different energetic patterns. The classical description of three dantian and seven…[Read more]

If you publish, or have published, be sure to let us know, there is no keeping secrets about that!

Dear Sophia,
Welcome to this forum! I’ve been absent recently due to time pressures, but am really pleased to have another enlightened female voice here (unless you are a man posing as Sophis/Wisdom….but it doesn’t feel like it).
I completely agree with Shapiro’s viewpoint, and may actually publish a different version of the…[Read more]

John,
The only place you’ll get hsing I, bagua, and higher level martial arts (northern wu taiji) is at the summer retreats at heavenly Mtn. in Norht Carolina.
It’s why I brought in Frank Allen and Tina Zhang – they spend a lot of time in china chasing after lineage holders and have integrated martial arts and spiritual practice. This year…[Read more] -

Hope your quest for new oute rspace in your ex-marriage leads to opening new inner space.I think we need to test both boundaries to unfold ourselves.

Michael Winn replied to the topic Can Enlightenment Be Achieved in One Week? (Sent recently to elist) in the forum Philosophy 18 years, 2 months ago
This is an issue of semantics (the meaning of language), but I think you are raising a valid issue. Do we start with integrating our conscious side, or focusing on the unconscious/dark side. It’s not really a linear/time choice. The more that either side is integrated, the whole is integrated, and we deepen the process of whole-body enlightenment.…[Read more]

It could be said that most people are slowly committing suicide via their lifestyle, and killing those around them by negative resonance.
I don’t think the longevity benefits are at all limited to the higher practices. I think the foundation meditations and movement practices are the linchpin of physical longevity. The higher practices let you…[Read more]
