Hi NN, just happened to stop in here between retreats and happy to see you still playing in this field…..
I would check the Daoism Handbook, which I thought was now in paperback but Amazon only has the hardcover for sale, maybe dig deeper than i quickly did.A text with narrow focus, i.e. pre-Tang dynasty debates, is another of livia’s…[Read more]

“the DNA phantom effect may be interpreted as a manifestation of a new physical vacuum substructure”…..
soundslike, in Taoist terms, your DNA-RNA=Jing is eliciting a download of new energy patterns from the pre-natal/early heaven field (= vacuum).
thanks for interesting piece. This could be breakthrough work for physical theory of…[Read more]

Wendy,
You have become so masterful…..turning farts into an essay on the cosmic origins of man-woman-kind.And I am impressed by the new level of Paolino’s respect and the powerof intelligent conversation it has unleashed.
Surely the Earth Changes are having their visiual effect, on this humble forum……

These are all good suggestions. The thing I discovered about many Tao practices is that the more effective they are, the more irritable you can feel afterward. You are stripping away layers and layers and layers of emotion and trauma, etc. You integrate yourself at a deeper level, feel some bliss. Then the next layer of anger, etc. eager for…[Read more]

Yes, I agree with you, and have said so previously. Longevity practtices are just support for spiritual practice, to give wisdom time to mature.
I did not feel the discussion on women’s farting was contributing to anyone’s longevity, and was of questionable levity.

Funny you should ask that question – just as I was about to post this article. synchronicity….Read my piece on Pulsation Packing – gentle alternative to Iron shirt. It may be the article posted also on Alchemical Taoism site, not sure. I teach a different method at the Greater Kan and Li, called sun-moon breathing, that involves inhale-only…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic Ape Genius…. the main difference with humans is spiritual in the forum Philosophy 16 years, 11 months ago
note: this article expands on the idea in the article on apes – how scientific ideas feed its own growth with exponential factors of expansion. The real question facing humanity: can we multiply spiritual consciousness by the same factor of growth? This is where sharing of spiritual “tools” , ie. methods of expanding and stabilizing awareness -…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic LSD Inventor Hoffmann dies at Age 102 in the forum General 16 years, 11 months ago
It’s simple – LSD is a catalyst that triggers a faster rate of combustion between your jing, chi, shen. This gives great shift in perception, by shifting your overall vibratory rate. But the jing is being used up faster than you can replace it by normal means. I had an overdose of mescaline in college, and it shut down my third eye for six months.…[Read more]

I am just back from several weeks teaching in holland, a large and growing neidan field there.
Delighted to see you making good use of the encyclopedia.
I agree the Mysterious Female/ opening/pass is the key to cultivation in neidan – but the elixir is the key to grounding that cultivation.

Barry,
if you want more community, just create it! that is how I started the summer retreats.Mass consciousness is more comfortable with masses, i.e. group work. Group work is good and necessary foundation for most. But higher work always involved facing the personal aloneness and then transcending it – but making the larger collective that…[Read more]

Barry,
You are way too much in your head on this one. I would give them a short half hour overview of what’s possible, and then focus on giving them an experience of Ovarian Breathing. Anchor them in the practice, then they will come back later for more. They can do ovarian breathing while in different yogic postures, you might suggest a…[Read more] -

Sorry, I glossed that. I have tried repeatedly to get it translated and published, and even found a top level western scholar willng to do the project if backed by a temple in Hong Kong that would assist financially. And I proposed it to Ren Fa Rong. I think he’s too busy being President of China Daoism Association AND hoping for a more commercial…[Read more]

A classic thorny bastard post – thanks!
Practically speaking, you want to learn Mandarin, not Cantonese, because its much more widepsread in use in terms of pronunciation, business, etc.
Taoist master TK Shih lived withme in the 80’s, and I thought I would learn Chinese from him. But he spoke Shanghai dialect, and i was warned not to learn…[Read more]

I met a weigh lifter once who had integrated the two, and claims he whipped the pants off other lifters in his weight class. He used qigong to supercharge his bench press – would focus on his breathing first, and get chi from his dantian to move the weights, using breath to direct the chi.
I rely soley on qigong and tai chi for fitness, but…[Read more]

The disconnect from the cultural – mind reality and the new vibrational reality of the Earth is creating tension that leads to madness and need to impulsively discharge the tension. On one level it is beneficial, in that it helps to awaken people from the comfortable cultural slumber. It makes them ask questions, like yours.

I was surprised recently to read a 1980 book by a jewish rabbi, When Bad Things Happen to Good People. by Kushner, whose kid suffered from birth from dwarfism and died at old age of 90 (biologically only 15 years old).

Nice bedtime story. You can see how modern cosmologists have replaced the ancient story-tellers and myth-makers….it is all about imagination, and expanding it beyond one’s current boundaries.
